Maybe it was the allergy medicine induced and coma-esque nap that caused me to miss Saturday Night GTA, my foray into the world of GTA multi-player that has me in a pessimistic mood, or maybe this is just bullshit.
I have previously stated my belief that
Haze is not supposed to be photo-realistic and so should not be faulted for not being so. A rumor came to my attention stating that the Haze demo build is the same version used at E3'07 which would imply that the final version, available this month, would show some significant improvements over the
576p demo.
Whatever the situation, Haze does not strike me as a game that justifies a big footprint on the hard drive. It looks good, but not amazing; it is fun, but not groundbreaking based on the demo; there's no indication it has the scope or scale of games like GTA4 or MGS4, the latter of which may not have an install at all.
While the the issues I have here have nothing to do with how fun the game will be, I am somewhat annoyed that Free Radical, who claimed not to need assistance from Sony in the development of Haze even though it was offered, has turned out a "story driven"/linear, sub-HD, FPS with a hard drive install
larger than that of the free roam GTA4. This is when you
accept the help guys.
