Attached to the stand... what!
I wasn't planning to get the Collector's Edition, but that's just one more reason not to anyway.

We wiggled it a bit, but didn't want to break it for the guy; I suppose there's a chance that it comes off, just like there's a chance the shittiness was limited to just that specific one. Even if it does come off, it could still be replaced by anything from a toy isle that will look better (it was really bad) and cost less.

Sucks, but I didn't want it anyway. Doesn't the CE not have the same art as the regular box? I love the reg. box art. It's kind of strange for me, all the box art for the recent CE have been really ugly. Halo 3, Fable 2, GoW2.
I ordered it from Amazon for $75.99 after shipping, so I'm not too worried. I'm more interested in displaying the batarang anyway. Also, I wanted the additional DLC that it comes with.
I get my employee discount, as well as an extra 20% because I am trading in Halo 3 for it. I think $100 (maybe 70 afterwards) is worth it for the CE.
Yeah, they announced a while back it's not metal anymore, and that was enough for me to not care. :(

Yep. Good ol' special editions. They always seem to fuck you over in the end. Remember when the Halo 3 Legendary Edition actually contained a REAL helmet? Didn't take long for that to change.
I never, ever purchase games(or even DVD) collector's editions, yet I was super-hyped about getting this one... Although my hype has been crushed. Thanks to this plastic batarang attached-to-the-stand news and my local game stores being sold-out of the CE, my enthusiasm is dead.
At least I'll save a bit-o-money.

Couldn't anything be used as a weapon? I mean, the pre-order RE:5 "Sand Globe" could, potentially cause a loss of HP. Hell, you could even use the disc or box as a weapon.

Wow, thank god for this blog post. I was literally going to pre-order the CE today from amazon (I just played the demo and loved it, and I'm a sucker for CEs). You just saved me a good chunk of change. Monay I can now spend on hookers. Cheap hookers. :)
Well, I already have that sucker paid for in full, guess I'm gonna have to deal with it now. A real shame it doesn't come off the stand. It'll still look pretty on my shelf though I'm sure.
