Name: Thomas
Location: Eudlo, Australia
Age: 17
I play any game I can get my hands on, but I have a very short attention span for them.
Some of my favorite games are:
Half Life 2
Metal Slug Series
Gears of War
Guitar Hero Series
Odin Sphere
WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!
Super Smash Bros Series
Elite Beat Agents and Ouendan
I'm also trying to develop a taste for retro games, but it often takes more patience than I'm capable of. I joined this site to meet like-minded gamers, so if you want to hear another Australian on Xbox Live or hear bullshit stories about kangaroo riding, add me.
ME
This place is serious business.
Also, I honestly blog to try to keep my writing skills semi-decent, and to try to connect with the people that I consider "my community"
here is a funny picture to lighten the mood :

Another reason is to try to make some acquaintances. I've gotten to play xbox live games with a few people but no one has really gotten to know me. Not that I've opened up to anyone or would dare ask them to. I just feel that its nice having this sort of brotherhood with people of similar interest. I'm sure that some of you out there play video games all day and read comic books. That is if anyone is reading this, it is a rather too long, don't read worthy comment. I feel a good mocking or burn would be better than a TL;DR post. That seems rather uninspired. Use some imagination and creativity if you're going to play a gentlemens game of internet.
My other reason is inform people about things. Be it a silly direct to dvd movie or old video games people might have missed. I don't want to post stuff that someone else made, as tempting as it would be to say "here is this weeks zero punctuation that I had Jack nothing to do with, please love me," I would rather post original features. I'll only post something like that if it looks like no one else has or I feel something was particularly worth watching. As I did when I posted the Superman 64 episode of the video game nerd, I tried to start a discussion about DC video games. Often I try to aim for a "just the facts" approach.
Some people to seem think of me as an internet winner with my comments. I will admit some are more humorous than others. Generally I'll comment with tongue in cheek, but occasionally I will be a little more serious.
For the most part I'm looking to amuse myself. When I get a laugh out of something the depression dies down. If only a little bit. I've always been attracted to comedy. But of course, you wouldn't realize that reading anything I wrote. Now would you?
As anyone that has spoken to me realizes, I'm all over the place with the voices and goofy stuff. Hopefully tomorrow I'll find a proper computer microphone and try the podcast thing out. When I still believed college mattered I was pursuing a commucations degree so that I could be a brodcast journalist. No one told me I had a face for radio, but I have gotten compliments for some of my voices. I often mimic voices. My biggest complaint about voices is the lack of originality. Everyone does an impression of an impression. For example, Sean Connery. Everyone goes for the jeopardy sketch. While amusing for acquaintances, I would never do something like that professionally. I've some experience with stand up comedy and telecommunications, so I think I might do well with the podcasting.
As Mr. Mxyzptlk pointed out, most of your so called internet heroes don't leave their homes often. Various phobias or social anxiety would be my guess. I just don't sleep very often, so you'll often find me constantly online. I'm usually reading how stuff works or encyclopedia websites for information. My new thing to do is to listen to people talk
about video games, while I play video games. Its almost like having real friends. Except you're a lonely guy playing video games. All alone and sad. But hey, if you join a website like destructoid and comment, they might say your name and go on to say they'll play a game that you recommended.
Now that is why I joined destructoid, post blogs, and comments.
So will anyone else open up like I did? Its okay Cornelius, you can cry too.
Also its a GREAT wall of text.
@randombullseye: It certainly is a Great Wall of Text. Pretty sure you can see that comment from space.
'internet winner' made me laugh.
