Passions in life - games, music and the combination / creation of the two. Doing a lot of videogame music covers, mainly rockin'!

Spent super much time as a "competitive" FPS gamer, like this. Lost the motivation though and found the work/time/headache to fun/reward ratio to be really messed up, so quit that right before newyears '09. Back to the roots - fun games for pure enjoyment! Mega Man fo' lyfe.

Will never forget you, RetroforceGO!

Never played this SNES game or even knew it existed until I watched a review of it; seems it was all for the best but it did have some badass music! Here be my rendition of the main theme.

Hupp hupp, VGM covers (MMX8, NG, BD, FF3)
Mooore VGM covers (CV2, TP:SA, NI, MM9, MM2)
Couple o' VGM covers (Rygar, MMX, DL)
Guitaralizing the Mega Man X Ending (VGM cover)
More Final Fantasy guitarisms (VGM cover)
Happy 19th in advance, Sonic! (VGM cover)
(Short) VGM guitar cover (CV)
VGM guitar cover (KI)
Some (more, short) VGM guitar covers (YAKF, MM3)
Some VGM guitar covers (SSF4, MM2/10, FF6)

Should really put these in the profile thing on the right side instead, shouldn't I

Yada yada, made more crap. In reverse chronological order:

Since I just finished this and wrote the description on YouTube, it'll have to do here too.

"Iron Will March" is my interpretation of "VS Lumine ~ The First Form" from Mega Man X8, and a track on the upcoming album project "Maverick Rising" at http://www.ocremix.org .

As the "not-quite-calm before the (final) storm" (and lead-up to The Second Form) I wanted to make something heavy and ominous!

Ninja Gaiden has super awesome music so in a bored moment I threw this super shortie together super quickie. Super duper!

As previously mentioned, huge fan of The (former) Adventures of Duane & BrandO and their current projects both of whom I am collaborating with on different tracks; this time though it's just a cover of 8Bit Duane's Action Adventure World's "Bad Dudes" with his original voice track on it. More (and better) like this will happen, and be on the lookout for an online release of a new (awesome) AAW track April 7th (Jackie Chan's birthday)!

Finally, a suggestion from an old class mate and another quickie. Not much to say, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

'sall fo' now, peace!

Since the last update I've done some of the best and some of the worst covers so far. As YouTube failed with their audio settings for a while I'll list the best quality setting to watch with just in case. .mp3's be on my site too, should you want them.

In reverse chronological order:

Castlevania II - Dwelling of Doom is a short collaboration with "Nihoggr" on drums and me on everything else (our second collab after Nightmare Creatures over a year ago). No, it's not a "rock band kit" or whatever, it's a "real" electronic drum kit. ;) He totally steals the show and I'm really happy with how it turned out, put a lot of work into making it "sound good".

(Best YouTube sound quality: 720p)

Apocalypse Now is a bit special in that it's not a cover of the source material (which would be Lullaby of Demonic Hell from the Touhou Project series game Subterranean Animism) but of the doujin arrangement Apocalypse Now on the Dangerous Mezashi Cat CD Memento Mori... ...and stuff. Yeah. Love this powerful track and am super happy with how it turned out, especially after only one sitting from idea to completion (it - the percussion in particular - being really simple obviously helped)!

(Best YouTube sound quality: 360p)

Conversely, I hate how this track turned out and the (lack of) time spent on it shines through. Not a fan of how anything "sounds" in it either... But figured I'd be a man and post it anyway. A sad nerd man at least, as the source of this track is an ancient Hentai game called Nocturnal Illusion. Yeah I played it, no I didn't beat it (pun intended). Difficult as shit and really trippy, but there were some awesome MIDI tracks in there of which two I figured I'd cover. The other one is really complex and difficult, but this - the creatively named Illusory Nocturne - was easy enough to put together in an hour or two as a break from other larger projects. Now if only I'd have made it sound good too...

(Best YouTube sound quality: 360p)

Ok, washed my hands and brushed my teeth, on to happier things. I'm doing guitars for The Amazing BrandO's (of now split The Adventures of Duane & BrandO) upcoming MegaProtoMan 9 track (which will be in the vein of their MM2 piece) also featuring Brentalfloss and Mega Ran/Random. As a fanboy I can't wait because it's looking to be awesome. :) Made a little promotion video out of boredom one day as I got a random idea involving the blue bomber and a middle finger.

(Best YouTube sound quality: 720p OR 360p)

Aaand the oldest one, good ol' classic, not much to say. Me and a couple of others were streaming us playing old games on Tinychat and two of us beat Mega Man 2 which prompted me to log off and record the Ending track. I like the video in all its simplicity here. :)

(Best YouTube sound quality: 720p OR 360p)

'tis it for this time! Failing hard at real life right now so things are slowing down while I focus on not being homeless and try to not starve to death or kill myself. Peace!

Sure been guitary this week.

First off, Rygar "Den of Sagila" (/ Sagila's Cave / Underground Cave / whatever people feel like calling it at the time) that I made yesterday in which I quite like how the chuggy guitars came out, really spent time on trying to up my production and sound on those. Bad-ass guitars for a bad-ass track.

Note: No idea what on earth YouTube is up to but the 360p version has good quality sound and the 480p has low quality sound on this one. Totally backwards for some weird reason.

My sleeping is broken these days so this might have been recorded earlier during the same "day" as the Rygar cover (...) and is a Mega Man X track called Variable X. It's also called a bunch of other names, especially when reused later in the series. It was suggested by a YouTuber and is pretty cool so out you go.

Before that, super quick cover of Storm Eagle, also from Mega Man X. Certainly not the least covered track out there, but like Wily Stage 1 from Mega Man 2 it's one of those "you WILL do it sooner or later!" so kind of "got it out of the way" heh.

The Prologue from Dark Lord (NES) is actually a reupload of one of my earliest covers that I'd removed for some reason, might as well toss it in here while I'm at it.

That's it for now with a bunch in the pipelines!

So I'm partaking in a Mega Man related thing that is going to be awesome whenever done, but a random break (while I await further communications from the overmind) resulted in sitting down and recording this piece from X! Always thought it was really beautiful.

I really don't know what to write to accompany these, I'm sorry. :(

So... Let's talk about my arse. At the moment it is a bit unhappy with the fact that I made this track in one sitting which was not a particularly short sitting, and that my chair is not a particularly comfortable chair.

From me and my arse, to anyone who wants to listen, a cover of The Final Battle (Zeromus) from Final Fantasy IV (or - again if you're one of those people - II)!

Would probably end up killing myself if I tried making a video for this so WYSIWYG! Missed the Weekend Destructainment post by hours anyway, grmbl.
