This is a pretty decent game, and a good buy @ $15 if you haven't gotten around to playing it yet. The Gold Edition features some additional playable heroes/villains over the standard game.
* New Heroes - Cyclops, the Hulk, Nightcrawler and Hawkeye
* New Villains - Doctor Doom, Magneto, Venom and Sabretooth
list of all characters
It also includes 12 new Xbox LIVE achievements and exclusive character costumes.
Original statement after it came out last year (obviously the $59.99 price doesn't apply anymore)
After the recent release of the Xbox Live downloadable content for Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Activision has taken things to the next step by allowing non-Xbox Live users to purchase the content in a Marvel Ultimate Alliance Gold edition. This re-release of the popular super-hero adventure game will be making an appearance on retail shelves with a new look.
The eight downloadable characters – complete with story missions, voices and special abilities – has become popular enough to warrant Activision with only one resolve: re-release the game to the general public, new heroes included. Some of these villains and icons include The Incredible Hulk, Magneto, Hawkeye, Sabretooth, Doctor Doom, Cyclops, Nightcrawler and Venom.
This special edition of Marvel Ultimate Alliance be available exclusive for the Xbox 360 for the original retail price of $59.99.

Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
It kinda sucks that I paid $10 for the DLC and the entire game is $15 now, but whatever. I got the game for free anyway.
