I'm just gonna throw this out there. The controller that comes with the Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero 3 sucks. It doesn't suck as in, "The buttons aren't working!" it sucks as in, "Wow, this thing's a real step down in terms of design." It's horrible. Whoever decided to make the corners 90 degrees is an idiot. Everytime I play I feel like I'm cutting my wrists. This may not be a problem for some of you but when I play, my wrist sits on the edge of the guitar which, as I said, isn't rounded off at all. Fucking OUCH. I submit to you, my fellow Destructoid readers, this piece of advice. If you already have the controller that came with the 360 version of Guitar Hero 2 then there is no need to buy the bundle. It will work prefectly fine and save you some cash. With this cash you'll be able to purchase the Rock Band bundle, which actually comes with a good guitar. The best guitar infact. Not only is the Rock band guitar better than the GH3 one in every way, it actually looks damn cool. (See image above.)
Of course, I'm not going to sway all of you readers out there as some of you probably love the idea of changeable faceplates and detachable necks. Fine by me. They're good features willing of your praise, but if you want to save some valuable money that you'll need come the holidays then don't buy the Guitar Hero 3 bundle.

I don't have an old 360 guitar and the Rock Band song list is lame in comparison with Guitar Hero. My choice still sticks with GH3.
I don't see why anyone would want to play with the bottom bass buttons on the RB guitar tho. Why hold your hand down there when the top frets are easier to access for a videogame?
A] Because I don't have one for the 360 yet and..
B] I want a second guitar for Rock band later.
I admit, the face plate thing sounds cool to me as well since I work at a sign place that could print awesome stuff for it.
