Maybe it's announcing Halo 3 for the PC. Heh, what a let-down it would be if that were true.
Yeah I don't get it. It'd be nice if developers actually told you what they're making instead of this cryptic nonsense. If this is just another Halo game, I'm gonna be disappointed.

anyways, people seem to think it's a Halo 3 expansion pack basically. I hope it's not, because I'm quite honestly done caring about Halo 3 now. I want it to be different. Be a game about the superintendent or whatever.

Either way I will enjoy this. I have been slowly getting bored with Halo 3 apart from the odd match or two but with the new ranking stuff, new maps and now this, I will probably be playing it a lot again.

it won´t be the Halo 3 for PC, since the ending shows you the 360 logo.

Yeah I saw this trailer and my reaction was just a long drawn out SIGH! Come on Bungie is the only thing you can work on right now Halo 3. Look at a studio like Insomniac who is about to release their 4th game on the PS3, a system that hasn't even been out as long as the XBOX360.
CONFIRMED: It's a Halo 3 campaign addition. Go on to the Marketplace under Halo 3, the trailer will be there and it says "new Halo 3 campaign experience" ...LAME
anyways, matlocking has found that during the trailer under "Bungie" it says "Supcondition date 1117" so naturally... think Novermber 17th for the release.

Didn't Bungie LEAVE MS to do new projects and now they are doing more Halo3? That's what confuses me.
Would seem the current idea in teh ircs is that it's a new campaign, where you play as an ODST.

They didn't really leave Microsoft at all, people just blew it out of proportion. Yes, they're technically a private company now, but they're still in bed with Microsoft much like what Insomniac is to Sony. They just became private so they could own their own IPs instead of Microsoft owning them. And still, Microsoft owns the Halo IP.
but why they're still doing stuff with Halo is beyond me, they're becoming a one trick pony FAST.
@Silverdragon, Insomniac may keep pumping out games, but they get nowhere near the sales the games made by Bungie get. Plus, Bungie have said they're working on 3 projects at the moment.

I know they are still in bed. They said they are "leaving" MS but still wanted to make games for the 360 and that they wanted to do a NEW IP. And now they are doing an OLD IP.

More than likely Microsoft said, "Here's a fuckton of money, make more Halo for us." Which is fine with me, but I'm still more interested in the Non-Halo games they aren't showing us.

wow here i am thinking halo3 was this hugely popular game, yet i never hear people talking about it anymore like they did with halo2 for 4 years. halo 3 must suck. oh wait, HALO does suck.
New campaign might be a bit of dumb fun, I just wonder if they're going to try and include a new multiplayer game in it and topple Halo 3.

They say a new experience. So Im gonna hope that this is the "gritty third person shooter" stuff they were talking about, because if it's just "oh you're not Master chief this time, you're just OSDT" that just screams Half Life: Opposing Force/Blue Shift
It will probably be OF/BS. Same game but from a different perspective! It's totally new content! :D
BSD says he wants gaming companies to do new things, yet he was splooging over Smash Brothers. Remember that game, guys? That broken fighter that sold solely on novelty?
And about Bungie doing "new" things, they're a giant company. They could be working on other stuff and doing this small expansion on the side. We don't really know. At least they haven't abandoned the game a year in like many other developers have.

They are doing new IPs, but they are also doing Halo. They just haven't announced the new IP yet. And you'd be a fool to think that MS would let them entirely off the leash and never let them touch the Halo franchise again.
Also, why so defensive? Chill.
vexed alex makes a good point. Most companies abandon their games a few months a couple patches after release. Bungie has a proven track record of supporting their titles.
I wish more companies did that instead of moving on to the next thing and forgetting that people paid upto $60 for a game.
Its cool to hate on Halo but you really could do a lot worse. Look at most console FPS out their now and you'll see they owe a lot to Halo/Bungie. I'm not saying Halo was original or re-invented the wheel. But you can't argue they had a lot of influnce on the way console FPS are designed and played. And when it comes to match making they're in a league of their owm. So yeah go on and hate on Halo and complain about Bungie not doing something new. Me, I'll be enjoying whatever they do next provided its as fun as Halo CE/3 and Bungie put the same amount of effort attention to detail they've done in the past.
