This is my gaming setup/home office. I've been a dtoid member for almost a year now, and haven't posted my setup; I considered this a problem. Without further ado, this is my throne:
I sit behind the couch, and my guests are in front of me. I control media on the PS3/360 from back here while they chat, read, play or draw. This is also my workspace for drawing, and doing business.
Right side, entertainment and reading:
This is my Street Fighter/Pulp Fiction wall. To the left are my games for PS3, 360, PS2 (96 games!), PSP and DS. Guarding them are my statues of anime and video game characters from King of Fighters, Disgaea, Fallout 3, Fate/Stay Night, Evangelion, and sculpted designs by Shunya Yamashita ( I have a tattoo on my left arm by this same guy, his pin-ups are sublime).
There's Japanese manga that I can't read, Marvel comic books, and my very large collection of design/art books imported from all over the world. In the back are two original pen drawings by Socar Myles and Ransom Getty and just out of frame at the bottom is a signed and numbered print by Liz Lorini; all are tremendous artists.
Also, obligatory bass guitar.
Left side, workstation #2 & #3
This is the high end gaming computer/3D animation workstation for my company. My senior artist Krystal jams out on this machine, check her work at
The Krayon Box. Original painting on the wall by dtoid member
mimasaurus. Out of view on the left most all behind the lamp is a signed and numbered print of Jason Byron Nelson's
Flowers in the Attic.
Front and center:
This is about where I sit. TV is a 42" 1080p LG HDTV. This thing is awesome when you're like four feet from it and playing
Flower. Just above it is my second signed print by Erik Jones, another ridiculously good artist. I met him and Ransom Getty at Megacon last year here in Orlando. Above the print is my Gestalt Clock.
Gestalt, in it's basic form, is interpreting visual data from limited information. There is only a 1/4th of the clock here, so you must use your mind's eye to see the rest; it makes a great conversation piece. Left side of the wall is my X-men/Buffy compilation.
I witness awesome from my kitchen at all times:
Thanks for looking at my setup, it's taken a while to acquire, catalog, and arrange my nerd treasury, and I'm glad to be able to show it off, finally.
+4 for Pulp Fiction poster
^^ Nice setup! Thanks for sharing with us!
But that doubles as your workspace? I can guarantee that I'd never get any work done there. You must have the fortitude of a monk to not get distracted.
Nice set up!
Is that X-23 below the clock? I can't really tell.
Did you read Planet Hulk? That shit was way better than World War Hulk, I was pretty disappointed with that one.
Do the Street Fighter comics actually have good plotlines, or is their only good point Udon's art?
ran: The entire X-23 series is up there, yup. I never read Planet Hulk, but I know the basic story.
The Street Fighter comics are ALL awesome.
Also, Uma! You, sir, rock!
I'm dreaming about setting up my own business at home, but I haven't found the perfect business yet ( too many ideas, only 2 hands and 1 mind to them :p ) kudos on doing your own thing!
Ridiculous set up though man, I love it. I just got my friends girlfriend to hook him up with that exact same wacom tablet; thing is awesome. I suck at drawing, but I had so much fun just playing with it because it can do so many things.
Seriously awesome.
