That takes nothing away from the drawing, of course - if anything, I'd say it adds to it.
I don't see any resemblance.
Looks good, I never know what to say about monster drawings (other than that they scare me), but of course it's really well-drawn. Do you have one of those big Wacom tablets? I have one of the smaller ones and I mainly use it for cleaning up scans, for some reason I can't get good lines with it. They always come out wavy.
