Hi guys, time for an update on what I've been up to. I've started to re-focus on the book I'm writing, and nailing down appearances for characters. This one is Cerisphipides, the Iron Siren. Originally a emerald eyed goddess with miles-long hair, she had a terrible calamity befall her by way of her enemies; she was not to be united with her love to become one in body. Her punishment was to be stripped of her hair and legs, and imprisoned in an arachnid shell. She is a motherly and serene creature, and remains kind to her followers.
A couple of close-ups:
As always thanks for looking! I'm going to be cooking up something very d-toid related very soon, so check back soon.
Just got my Become t-shirt in mail, it fits perfectly, and is great quality. Thanks for all the people at Dtoid for hooking these up, and much thanks and props for Ashley Davis, this is a wonderful design. SHOW US UR GOODS!
Hullo, it's been a while. Life's been busy, work has been lucrative, and I'm making quite a bit of change off of my business ventures, and it's high time that I've shared! This is a character design I finished today; based on the art direction of this page: Algadon.com. I've been commissioned to do a set of these for $100 each, and it's been fun working on this one. Let me know what you think! Hopefully I'll be able to post more as I complete this project and other work!
Design Brief: Create a female angelic warrior. All details are up to you.
The line art is finally done! This is probably the best and most involved work I've done in a very long time; and I'm proud of what I've created. For now I'll be prepping it for color and doing final detail work. I've had to level up my game to make this piece look good, and my friend Sarah pointed me in the right direction in terms of getting my anatomy right. Hopefully the painting phase will go as well as this has. Thanks for looking!
Hi guys, it's been a long while. I've been concentrating on freelance work for my company, Raven Harbor. You might recognize one of my employees ;3. This piece is a figure in repose of a Blood Elf Hunter named Teglimus. I had the idea to draw WoW characters for people to not only boost my figure drawing skills, but also to open myself to a potential market of 11 million people. It's still pretty early, but you can get a good idea of where I'm going with this one. Thanks for looking!
I have to start this mini-review with the fact that I have a severe god-complex, and this game is my drug of choice. Prototype is an interesting beast, it's part hack n' slash, part GTA, part RPG, and I love it. There are, however, a few faults among the awesome that I'll point out below:
Graphics: 8/10 The graphics have been done much better, in higher profile titles. Graphics whores need not apply. Looks are somewhere between Saints Row 2 and GTA IV.
Animation: 8/10 Radical went a little light on fluidity of motion for Alex, but I've been surprised at the little slick parkour embellishes when I'm skyrocketing between buildings. It looks good, feels, good, but not as complete as it should be. Some questionable sneaking animations when impersonating a soldier, no one seems to notice the one guy who walks around like Solid Snake with a hunchback.
User Interface: 8/10 Very well put together, but the menus aren't infinitely scrolling, i.e you get to get end of the Upgrades menu and it doesn't cycle back to the beginning, it just stops. There's no way to set waypoints between areas, so it's kind of easy to get lost at first, but you'll start recognizing landmarks before long.
Presentation: 9/10 The game is fantastically presented; you will feel your power and flexibility of action grow organically as you unravel the mysteries behind your powers.
Voice Acting: 5/10 Some really bad compression issues with Alex's voice in cut-scenes, The actress playing Dana Mercer could use a few acting lessons.
Controls: 8/10 Alex is FAST. It's hard to get used to him moving around, because he is extremely responsive, which is great, but takes some finesse. Most of my complaints about the animation come from this. He moves really fast, and the momentum is not accurately figured into the equation sometimes. Alex feels flighty and weightless when you're trying to get him to haul his ass out of the way of a charging infected monster.
Music: ?/10 What music? I consume the minds and souls of the world. I am a god.
All kidding aside, the music is forgettable and really unobtrusive. I was so busy with killing that it didn't occur to me that there WAS a soundtrack.
Overall: 8/10 Above Average, Good Fun, Forgettable Audio If you like annihilating a man by cutting him in half length-wise and then jumping 100 feet into the air to hijack a chopper, then give this a shot. Most of my complaints are technical, and have no bearing on the fun factor, which is a solid 10. The audio has some problems that are distracting from the story, but the radio/ped chatter in the open city is great.

I'm an artist and teacher at Full Sail University and run a freelance art studio in Winter Park, Florida. I specialize in natural fantasy and industrial design, as well as character design. I am currently a concept artist for an online MUD, and for an independent horror film. This is my video game art blog; I'm meticulous and am a perfectionist, and I've begun to experiment with different styles and methods to create art that is faithful to it's source. Video games have been a completely and wholly encompassing part of my life; it's only fair that my love of art reflects this.
