So as usual after getting in from school and checking a few headlines in today's gaming news I headed over to www.Gametrailers.com to watch the newest Bonus Round that I have missed when I saw a new PM in my box. Confused as I really don't have any friends - or even do much socializing there aside from watch videos I rushed to the small (1) message as quick as I could. I saw a message from the website I assume.

"If you were here last year, you might remember we did a big Child's Play donation drive and well, we're doing it again!

Donate your GTD to Child's Play and make a difference in the life of a child this holiday season! We switched up the formula a little bit this year. Each donation is 100 GTD and for each 100 that's donated, Gametrailers will give $1 to Child's Play. We're trying to collect 10,000 $1 donations so if you can spare it, please make one! We're only allowing one per person this time but you don't need to be level 5! Everyone with 100 GTD can donate! Make your donation at the Marketplace

If you don't know about Child's Play, check out their website but basically it's a charity set up by Gabe and Tycho at Penny-Arcade that gives the joy of gaming to kids who are too sick to be at home with their families this holiday. Your gift of GTD goes to buying a game or a console that really will make a sick child a little happier this holiday.

Let's show our generosity! Donate today!"

In all truth thanks to a certain popular MMO I had been out of the video game loop for a long time and this is the first I had heard of this organization. Not big on the giving this is one organization I really like, since I spend over half of my week doing something video game related.

As an unemployed college student for the past week or so I had been thinking of ways to donate to it in one form or another, even the tiniest bit, and that is why I am thankful for this. I think it is a great way for folks to donate to the cause. Sure it is only 1 measly dollar, but hey every penny counts in this form of stuff! If you have a gametrailer's account, it is only a simple 100 GTD and you feel a bit better donating to something like that.
