Hello there, Destructoid. If my memory serves me correctly, I signed up for this site in November 2007 at the ripe age of 13. Now, at the slightly less young age of 19, I'm finally writing my introduction.
I have no excuse for not writing one earlier (aside from being a lazy shit and a possible lack of balls), so hopefully I can make up for that by filling you in on what has been going on in my life for the last five and a half years.
A 100% accurate representation of my stunning entrance.
My name is Jack. Or Toadeh. Whatever works for you, essentially. I'm studying computer science at college. As I mentioned before, I'm 19 years old. As such, I'm not claiming to be the most "experienced" gamer. I grew up playing my beloved Nintendo 64 - Banjo Kazooie/Tooie, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Mario Party 1/2/3, Jet Force Gemini, Beetle Adventure Racing, etc. (fun fact: Banjo Kazooie is my favorite game of all time). I'm almost positive Banjo Kazooie was my first game, but there's a chance it could have been Frogger 2 (for my clearish-purple GameBoy Color). This uncertainty is a source of extreme internal torment, but I usually get by.
I've pretty much stuck to Nintendo through the years, though recently I've ventured into the world of PC gaming; I just can't avoid those Steam sales. I'm a full-time student, so I don't have as much time as I would like to play games, but when I have time off I usually play my 3DS or an assortment of PC games (or Melee because it's the perfect dorm game).
My super special 3DS.
Outside of the realm of gaming, I'm also a musician. I've played violin for the last eleven years, and recently I started teaching myself how to play piano and ukulele. I might also be minoring in violin performance, but that remains to be seen (because the music department is taking forever to email me back). I get a little too excited about music in video games/movies/anything, so please bear with me.
Due to a lack of creativity, I can't promise to be the most active blogger. I'm going to have to test the waters a bit more (as if reading this site every day for the last five and a half years hasn't been enough) to see what I'd like to write about and when, but I can assure you I'll have more of a presence here from this point on. Unless you all hate me.
I'm running out of things to say, so I guess I'll end this here. Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to know! I look forward to getting to know you lovely people.
