Guess what I found at Game Crazy Today?
Tino | 12:49 AM on 10.19.2007 16 comments

So, I think I'm going to try to find something somewhat obscure and awesome every week or so. Make something of a half assed feature of it.

I'll be honest I had never played this one until I bought it earlier.

So far I'm pretty happy with what I have. It seems this can get a little ridiculously in depth so if any Disgaea junkies have some advice for me I would love to hear it.

Now here is my interesting twist.

This particular store also has one new and still sealed. Would that be considered a rarity and to be purchased immediately and stored in a quiet room?

Random fact: the level cap in disgaea is 9999. Good luck getting there!

Other Random Fact: You can store up to ~186,000 using transmigration.

I'm level 5 for gods sake. ALMOST THERE.

Also, this game has been reprinted three or four times now, and while still not exactly common, it's not as rare as it used to be.

Still, great game and nice find though.

Atlus Rule: All Atlus products should be purchased on sight and encased in protective lexan.

It's for their own good, even if it makes them difficult to play.

I've got some good stuff at GameCrazy as well. Early this year I used their special order service, you put the game you want and if they get a game in used anywhere in the country they'll mail it too you. So I paid the $6 and put in for MGS:Subsistence Limited Edition. A few months later I gave up on ever getting it, got my $6 back and just bought the regular edition of Subsistence. Well then a month or so later I show up at gamecrazy and they had gotten it in and held it for me even though I canceled my order. Pretty nice of them considering they could have sold it on amazon or ebay for 4 times what they sold it for.

For your main question. Disgaea used to be that game that you simply couldn't find. Lately I've been noticing more and more come into GCs, GSs, and EBs than ever before.

The main question you should ask yourself is "Am I going to play it, collect it, or both?" It is a completely worthwhile play and personally, I would go for whichever one is cheaper (as long as it is in good condition) and play the snot (see: shit) out of it. It is a sweet find, just not as hard to find as they used to be. Have fun!

I agree with bluemeep, Atlus is the only company i will buy games from without knowing anything about the game, that's how i got disgaea, one of the best surprises ever.

Yeah I bought Contact for the Ds an Atlus title, thinking it would be like Star Tropics type of game, it is but not I find myself not really interesting in finishing it. But I will give Atlus some of thier games are unique and people seem to want them.

During the last reprint, I bought it direct from NIS America for $30.

You could probably find it for like $35-$40 at Gamestop now (if they have it that is).

It's pretty common now. There is a great PSP remake coming out in a week or two, that adds a buncha new stuff. So if you have a PSP, it'd be worth checking out that version instead.

@jdug28:

There is a Gamestop by me that has MvC2 for the ps2 in stock. But it's $79.99.

If you want MvC2 on PS2, go rent it from a Hollywood video and say you lost it. The payment fee should be $30.

What makes you think all Hollywood Video's have it? I mean, mine does but thats besides the point.
