Let me guess, your looking forward to your Mass Effects and your Halos and your Modern Warfares like the little whores you are. Well, I'm looking forward to those games, too. But, Shigeru Miyamoto's latest project is the one that excites me the most. But in this post I'm not going to go on and on and on about how cool this game looks (holy shit, penguin suits!). I'm going to actually talk about something. Shigeru Miyamoto games don't receive enough hype anymore. I mean, when they come out, they get good reviews and everybody likes them and all that butt-fudge. But, journalists will be all like "Holy shit! Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2! Let's have our 8439058340598th preview of it today." Eventually, you get sick of hearing about and you just want the damn game to be released so the journalists will review it and proceed to finally shutting the fuck up about it (hopefully). But I've barely found any previews of New Super Mario Bros. Wii or The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Instead I'm being drowned by "Left 4 Dead 2 impressions" and "Halo 3: ODST multiplayer tips" and all that other crap. So if your looking forward to any of Shigeru Miyamoto's new games, you get a bonus point. Also, please don't be a fucktard and take this article the wrong way. I'm excited about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and all that other stuff. I was just complaining about the way journalists hype it up.

I'd have to say that I'm not that excited about NSM. It really just looks like the DS version, but with a function that lets the game play itself.
Spirit Tracks on the other hand... now that is a game I'm looking forward to.
Back at E3, I did a write up on New Super Mario Brothers Wii; various other news sites are also doing tons of previews on it. They're there, you just might not be finding them.
But yea, I'm excited for it. I thought it was really easy, but then again SO WAS New Super Mario Brothers DS: and there's NOTHING wrong with that. Mario hasn't really been hard outside of Lost Levels decades ago, but the series has ALWAYS been fun.

As far as this statement goes: "Instead I'm being drowned by "Left 4 Dead 2 impressions" and "Halo 3: ODST multiplayer tips" and all that other crap."
So basically you're saying you hate how New Super Mario Brothers haters are ignorant, yet you're being ignorant towards other shooters. You can't have it both ways!
Also, use paragraph breaks: it allows for a smoother read :D
Of course, part of the radio blackout is Nintendo's tightlipped practices. I'm certain Activitsion and Valve are somehow bankrolling those previews. Jim Sterling's L4D2 preview trip was paid for by Valve, in so much that they flew him out to see them. Not that the hype was bought, but people also happen to be really interested in Left 4 Dead. little of column A, little of column B, for better or worse.
I mean really, the Mario formula lends itself so well to so many possibilities that it's disappointing how little Nintendo has tried to expand on this since the early 90s. I appreciate the multi-player component, the ability to ride Yoshi, but I'm worried that this game is going to be sort-of dumbed down for the lowest common denominator.
I mean I just don't get it. Why "New Super Mario Bros."? Is it supposed to imply that these games are pseudo-remakes? Because they aren't. The DS game ditched, like, a LOT of things, and went back to basics with the fireball powerup primarily, but still went ahead and added a shitty turtleshell powerup and a giant-Mario powerup.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure I'll enjoy the game, but I have a feeling I'm still going to be waiting for my "Super Mario World 3." Or Mario 4. Or whatever.
