Fallout: New Vegas

Perks Wish List

The recent COD MW2 contest reminded me of a list I wrote a while back which I shared with my co-workers. I never fully liked RPG's till I played Fallout 3. I'm a 31 year old man with wife and kids, and I'm up till 1am, 4 nights a week playing it. I work in training/marketing, so I couldn't help myself but let me mind wonder after hearing about the new Fallout game. So here you go. My Perks Wish List for Fallout: New Vegas.

"Pink Flamingo" - When one of your legs is critically wounded your Attacks do 25% more damage.

“Slots-a-Fun” – When in VATTS you can choose to gamble, and your percentage will be either 1%, 10%, 50%, or 100%

“Four Queens” - When bargaining or speaking with a female you get better deals and your speech level is increased by 15%

“Four Kings” - When bargaining or speaking with a male you get better deals and your speech level is increased by 15%

“Golden Nugget” – You will find considerably larger amounts of caps when searching through crates, boxes, or people.

“Circus Circus” – You will deal 20% more damage when attacking animals.

“ Excalibur” – Deal 15% more damage when wielding melee weapons.

“Pitt Boss” – Intimidation increased by 10%

“Wild Wild West” – Chances of landing a critical hit with pistols greatly increased.

“Gold Spike” – Chances of landing a critical strike with the Rail Gun, greatly increased.

"Fear and Loathing". All your weapon or speech perks are temporarily maxed if you take one of each kind of drug at the same time.

What are one’s you would like to see?

Hell yeah these are some nice and creative ideas. I would love to see some perks like this happen.

Clever!

I'm really looking forward to this game.

Here are some others to add

Double-Down: Critical hits now cause 2x damage. Because who doesn’t split aces?

The Gambler: You know when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em. You also know that a 100% critical hit results in your opponent’s instant death, and a 0% miss causes your weapon to instantly break.

Cirque de Soleil: Increases AGL by 1 point when character is in direct sunlight.

High Roller: Falls from great heights no longer cause limb damage. Keep those ankles springy, tuck, and roll.

Neon Jungle: Rad poisoning causes your body to naturally glow, illuminating the surroundings without turning on your Pipboy light.

Sin City Spectacular: Killing NPCs that are attacking you no longer results in negative karma. That’ll learn ‘em.

Pretty good ideas from OP and TheJesusNinja. Now, who wants to actually SEE something on Fallout: New Vegas? The anticipation is killing me.

Oh wait, TheJesusNinja is the blog poster... oops.
TheJesusNinja26's Destructoid Blog
@Furnimus - Yeah it's killing me too. They announced it and showed nothing of the game. One screen shot would have been all I needed. But so far we know...

1. It's using the same graphics engine as Fallout 3.
2. It's using the same combat style as Fallout 3.
3. It's set on the Left Coast.
4. It's a Bethesda/Obsidian game now.
5. It's Fallout, so it's going to be fantastic.

Here is an article about it.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

 about me

Gaming History:

I grew up on NES, SNES, and N64. Then took a break from gaming for a few years to party and be in a band in high school and college. Then once I was out of college I picked up a PS2 and started playing again. A few years later I picked up a XBOX 360, then a Wii, and finally a PS3 then an old modded XBOX that plays NES, SNES, Genesis & N64 games. I have since sold the Wii because I never played it. I don't play PC games. I buy all multi-platform games on the 360.

Let's get personal...
I was an atheist for the first 21 years of my life, then God showed me He was real in an extremely powerful way that I just couldn't deny no matter how much I wanted to ignore it. I then spent a few years doing youth ministry and traveling North America sharing the Gospel. After that I was a Spanish teacher in private and public schools. I then became a sales/product trainer for Best Buy. I am now a sales/product trainer for Toshiba's Laptop division. I am married with 3 fantastic sons. I am a musician; I have played drums for a little over 14 years. And dabble in a little classical guitar.

I am a very passionate person. I love my sports teams; RedSox, AZ Cardinals, and PHX SUNS. I enjoy a great beer preferably a Pale Ale or IPA. MOAR HOPS! I'm always down for an intelligent discussion; The more profound the better. In my opinion Gamers get a bad rep, because of a large percentage of gamers are immature tools, who lack couth. I'm in no way a violent, blood-lust filled person, like those you hear on Xbox Live or PSN spouting of racial slurs or obscenities. I just grew up on games and they've stuck with me.
