10. I never really going into gaming till I got a Playstation 1
Don't get me wrong, my first console was a Spectrum ZX, I even played Pong, but up until then I would just play whatever rubbish my parents would buy me, or whatever was cheap enough to buy with my pocket money. It wasn't until I got a PS1 that I started reading gaming magazines and trying demos of decent games.
9. I'm a Twin
I have a twin sister (my thoughts have now betrayed her too), and no, we're not identical. It's the exact same as having a normal sister, except we have the same birthday (which used to suck so much!). I usually forget the fact that I'm a twin in all honestly.
8. I've hardly played any of the big Nintendo franchises
I've never played any of the Smash Brothers, Kirby, F-Zero, Metroid or Pikmin games. I've only ever played one Zelda game (Twilight Princess). Like I said before, I never really got into gaming properly till I got a PS1, and personally I think that a lot of the appeal of those games is in the retro aspect, which I don't have. I feel like if I was to go out and buy one of those games, that I'd be doing it just to "fit in", which I don't want to do.
7. My favourite game is Final Fantasy VII
Yes, I know it's clichéd, but it was the first real RPG I ever played, so a lot of my love for this game is sentimental. I even wrote a
monthly musing about my feelings on the main antagonist.
6. I look like someone you know
Almost every time I meet people for the first time, they remark how much I look like one of their friends, or a celebrity, or one of my mates. I don't quite know what it is, but it happens A LOT. Off the top of my head I've been told I look like; various football players, Simon Pegg, Shaggy from Scooby Doo, Steve Irwin, Chris Martin and Charlie Brown.
I know, doesn't make any sense but people are weird!!
5. I will never have a pet
When I was much younger, I was walking home from primary school and a dog ran out of a house and just started biting the fuck out of me, I was fine, didn't even break the skin thanks to the layers of clothing I was wearing (also because I booted the fucker in the head and sent it running). Naturally this left me fucking terrified of dogs for years, if I saw someone on the opposite side of the street from me walking a dog, I would start to silently panic.
It took a long time to overcome that fear, but I'm fine around dogs now, I just never want a pet of my own. I just can't seem to make myself care for them enough to want to keep them around after the novelty wears off.
:(
4. I use humour as a shield
If you've seen me in IRC, you probably notice I make a lot of jokes, usually terrible horrible jokes, but lots of em. I've always been really insecure and low on confidence, but I found out early in life that if you can make people laugh, people like you more. Plus making a room full of people fall about laughing does wonders for your confidence (if that was your intended desire).
3. I make out like a lesbian
Yeah, you read that right.
I was once "close" to this bi-sexual girl, and during a rather intimate moment she told me that I made out like a lesbian. She always went on about how girls were better kissers than guys, so she meant this as a compliment but it totally ruined the moment and left me crying in laughter.
I haven't spoken to her in years come to think of it
2. I've never left Europe
I've been all over Europe when I was younger, but I've never actually
left it. Once I get my passport sorted though, that will all change because...
1. I'm going to PAX
I've been sort of torn up about going to PAX, the idea of travelling such a big distance to hang out with people you've never met is kinda scary, but yet part of me really wanted to go. None of my mates here are really into games, and that kinda made me feel like I didn't fit in as much as everyone else.
If I can't get to IRC or on Xbox Live once in a few days, I honestly start missing you guys.
So as scary as the idea of going to PAX is, I sort of figured "Fuck it, it'll be an adventure".
ZING.
HAha, I laughed at the part about lesbion kissing :)
You are awesome, YoungScott. I'm a twin as well, but we are identical.
Have yourself washed and hasten to my room, boy.
hes awesome
You totally do Like the brother of somebody I know, if they had a brother.
:(
Daisy: "So now you're afraid of dogs and lightning?"
Tim: "And bamboo."
Also,
@Haxan
I love you
Spaced reference ftw
And biiiig time ditto on #4, meng. Big time.
The only two girls that I ever made out with were terrible kissers.
