Sony pulls firmware 2.4 from update servers- Dumbass XBL subscribers to blame

Joystiq is reporting SCEA has pulled newly released firmware 2.4 from its update servers. This follows reports of buggy chat in COD4, lag and PS3 boot up issues. Here's hoping 2.41 irons out any kinks.

I am unofficially locking this post. Don't let this bullshit make everyone comment a million times saying HURF DURF XBOX IS NOT 2 BLAEM HURF. Maybe it's for the best Mix, if it really is that shit you'd better let it run on the smooth 2.36 for a while. (I'm pretty sure you can find the update somewhere on the internet and download it on a USB-stick if still want to update)

It's a sign from the Gods that Sony shouldn't have bothered with 2.40 until they could actually compete with the greatness that is XBOX LIVE ...

... or it could be some M$ fanboy who hacked into the Sony servers and fucked the patch up. The world will never know.

Sucks for those whose system bricked after the update. Glad mine went just fine, but then again I didn't really test it that much, updated Stardust, earned 2 trophies, checked the XMB when I was playing Stardust, seemed to work fine. Didn't get a cance to boot up any games and try it as I went to bed shortly after I played Stardust. The only thing I noticed was that Stardust took longer to load up than usual.

Honestly, as much as I like the update, I have noticed that it's a little more rugged now... It does make stuff lag a bit. Hopefully this'll be fixed by tomorrow or something, now that Sony's actually acknowledged it.

WOAH, my system has been running fine, the only lag is on the in game XMB, which is similar to the lag on the 360's, What I really fucking want is custom soundtracks for GTA 4, I hope Rockstar gets off thier asses and releases one soon.
My condolences to those who ps3 has bricked.
