To be honest, I have no idea what this blog is about, unless I'm just reading it wrong.
You start off saying that people who say "best launch lineup since the Dreamcast" are just posers, but then you go off on a tangent talking about how other systems kicked its ass when it came to non-launch games. Huh?
Honestly, I think the Dreamcast did have the best launch lineup ever. It had a cavalcade of games that appealed to just about everyone, and Soul Calibur itself is one of the most marquee fighting game releases ever: on the Dreamcast's launch.
If we're talking non launch? I can name many more systems with a better library. But saying "the Dreamcast had a good launch" shouldn't be hipster in the slightest. It literally did have a lot of great first and third party support out of the gate. When *I* refer to its launch, I'm not just talking about what appeals to me: NFL2K was also another juggernaut that roped in non-SEGA fans as well.
I dunno. The Wii U seems to have a great, mass appeal oriented launch as well, with a handful of quirky Japanese titles, popular mainstream franchises, and the like. I don't think it's too far off the mark to compare it to the Dreamcast's [b]launch[/]b from an objective standpoint. I wouldn't attempt to call anything the "next Dreamcast" either.

@Chris - First, Look up David Mitchell's Soap box, click whatever video interests you..
Secondly, the point was that each console has its own merits and should be judged on those merits rather than be instantly compared to some old system that was both a perfect storm and a failure at the same time in a situation that cannot be recreated again That and no launch line-up is indicative of future success, as Dreamcast so clearly displays.

Ah I got you. Of course!
Still, praising in the short term isn't something that should be shunned.
Provided you're not narrow-minded enough to elongate that term (3DS doomsayers).

The dreamcast was amazing.
Yeah, the only thing that interests me in the wii u is p-100 (wonderful 1010).

I'll admit I got sort of confused to about what this blog was about too, but I still enjoyed it so a fap for you.
I'll admit, I didn't probably eat all that well this weekend, so this might have all come of a touch unfocused. I will never blog on an empty or ramen-only stomach.
Maybe.
Maybe.
