I've been wanting to do this one for a while, I was lurking around when Jim Sterling published all those negative blogs about Kotick and his bottomless pit of a mouth -- and I want people to put up or shut up. Many of you were angry and said you would boycott MW2 once it came out. Well how can I ask for proof of this? Simply, scan and put up pictures of receipts confirming you rented or bought the game used.

I won't get MW2 this year but I will put up some pictures when I do.

I'll take this time to announce my philosophy on relentless members like this.

Unless they're doing things like blatantly bashing gays, I won't ever call for a ban. In fact, this dude is doing nothing wrong short of being annoying, which isn't ban worthy in the slightest.

But, Dtoid is an "open mic" type place. People like Chronoswing and Wryguy, among others, aren't afraid to shout "boo, you suck!" Honestly, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, and it's part of the reason I love Dtoid.

Good luck with this boycott. I wont be participating because Ive already got this game pre-ordered. You know why? Because its going to the best best game to come out of this year. This is number 1 and Uncharted 2 is, well, number 2. If your going to take full advantage of the multiplayer than this game is worth every penny.

By the way RPGist what is you problem with big name titles like Halo or Modern Warfare 2? What did they do to you other than be popular on a massive scale. In these boycott challenges you never stated a reason for doing this. Why should we follow your example and not buy it. Give me a reason.

Hey man, I don't mean to rub you the wrong way, but you're sure rubbing me the wrong way. You misunderstand your readership. We don't want things like this, we won't long, well written, thought provoking pieces like this. Hell, just look at the comment thread there, that should be evidence enough that if you put time and effort into your blog you'll get a much, much better response. Believe it or not, we're not like every other site out there on the Internet. We actually like rational discourse and thoughtful discussion.

Anyway, I haven't done it yet, and forgive me if I'm mistaken about your familiarness with Destructoid at large, but welcome. I'm far from ever wanting to turn someone away from our awesome community, I just wish you actually understood the way things work around here, instead of just assuming you did.

I'm mostly just messing with you because you post a lot of shortblogs, but you're not nearly as bad as some people seem to think.

But I do know you can do better, though. I think if you kept some of these shortblogs to the forums (maybe even The Arcade thread), and made two well thought out "why Halo isn't that great" and "why boycotting Modern Warfare is a good idea" blogs, you'd get less hate mail.

It might be different if these were at least thought provoking but instead they are just asinine shit about boycotting MW2 and Halo like anyone cares, take that over to gamefaqs where the dumb ass fanboys can eat it up and talk about the gayloz.

tbh, this doesn't practically bother me as much as it did before the fap system, which is a nice way to float up interesting/time invested articles.

Still, its a very forumsy sort of thing, these challenges, as it begs tracking/discussion over a period of time, and the jump off is pretty brief.

Out of the 26 comments on this blog about 4 of them are actually responding to your blog. The rest are trying to tell you how to best maximize your time on Dtoid.

Based on the numbers, I find it really hard to believe your claims of having a readership.
