Hello Dtoiders, some of us are going to be attending a very special dinner event on the Thursday before PAX begins. Here is Johnathan Ross with more details on the Farestart restaurant. Remember, if you want to join an possible empty spot with another Dtoider, please ask about it in our Google Group thread.

If you don't know what FareStart is, it's an awesome restaurant that helps out homeless/disadvantaged people by teaching them cooking skills so they can get jobs. On Thursday it's guest chef night fundraiser night, where a prominent chef from the community comes in and makes awesome food. For $25 a person (not including alcohol), you get the 3 course meal listed above, and all profits go to help the program.

Here is the menu.

Dungeness Crab and Roasted Corn Chowder

Snake River Farms Black Label Kobe Striploin, Mushroom, Foie Gras Duxelle Roulade, Roasted Onion & Rogue River Blue Risotto and Sauteed Greens

Vegetarian
Organic Vegetable Risotto and Sauteed Greens

Dessert
Northwest Stone Fruit Panna Cota finished with Sea Salt and Saba


Reservations can be made in tables of 2, 3, or 4, and they fill fast. Last year we had about 28 people go and I think most people had fun. Dress is relatively casual so don't worry about rolling up in something other than a suit. (Jeans and a nice shirt would be nice though.) Reservations can be made here.
