BringIt, and then lose it all and be in debt.
The Legendary Star | 5:24 PM on 08.03.2009 9 comments

Half rant/ Half not a rant.

So after seeing the article on the frontpage about the website BringIt.com, I instantly thought about casinos and how people become addicted to it and lose every freaking penny they own. Although not exactly the same I think it's similar. I think if this site gains popularity it could cause real problems. At least to a gamer's wallet if not worse.

Here's a little scenario I thought up:

Jerrard is an unemployed husband with two young kids. While his wife is at work, he "watches" the kids while sitting on the couch beating up some n00blets in Halo 3. One day Jerrard comes across the site, and thinks he could do pretty good things with some extra cash, (*cough* ODST *cough*). There's just one problem: Jerrard doesn't have any money to bet with. Well... That's not completely true. Jerrard remembers that his wife has a lot of money stored away in the cookie jar in the kitchen for a family vacation.

Ignoring morality or any common sense whatsoever, Jerrard uses the money his wife has been saving for a year, and uses it for a Halo 3 match on the site. Jerrard thinks if he wins (he's 99% sure he will), then he can get ODST, and have an even better vacation then before.
Or least that's what he thinks to convince himself that it was okay to take the money.

Oh no...

Jerrard didn't win.
He panics. How is he going to tell his wife he just lost a years worth of savings?
He's enraged.
"That's guy cheated!"
Jerrard's mad... Real mad.

There's a few ways this scenario could play out; just use your imagination.

My point is, people are sore losers. And some are even pyscho. Have you been on XBL recently?

People lose matches, they get mad.
But with money involved?
Oh hells no. Bad things could happen.

But you can't really hold the site accountable, can you?

[Seriously though; you can fucking bet $100,000?]

Life with my DS and I.

Imagine an internet with constant loading problems, slow loading, and more. Imagine if everytime you visited Dtoid, you'd have to re-login.

You see, this sad internets is my internets! I do not own a computer, and haven't for almost a year now. I won't go into any details on why, but now my only source of internet is my DSi.
I've gotten pretty used to this sad, pathetic life of constant disconnections and various other errors,

The DSi browser is really just one big error. It's worse than contracting an STD, (trust me, I would know).

But enough about that! Hello, I am Aaron. I've been an avid lurker of this site for months, and I really do like it here. :) I've been a member of the forums for a while now, but I haven't been TOO active.

Here's a few things you might not know about me:
- I like videa ghames.
- I'm a "reality" show addict.
- I<3L4D, AND I FULLY SUPPORT A SEQUEL.
- I are a bad with grammar.
- Spelling too.
- I'm 15, and I'm not obsessed with Halo 3 and CoD4.

ALSO: I'm a magician, and I have a lot of tricks.

[Consider this an introduction, lol.]
