I'd like to start off by saying that I've been lurking this site for years, and yet never actually decided to join. In hindsight, I realize this was a mistake. Never before have I seen such a close-knit commune of people that I thought I could connect with in some way. And over the Interwebs no less. I have now come to the conclusion that I can only benefit from joining, as it would raise my awesome meter at least a few notches.

I began my lurking about two and a half years ago, and within minutes of browsing the site, bookmarked it right then. The humor, the honesty, the good-natured immaturity on the surface that peels back layers to show that it is much more than that. (Although, still completely immature, in a good way.) I found well thought out and written articles. I found interesting commentary on all things game-related. I found a lot of masturbation jokes. I found myself coming back, day after day, to not only read the front-page news, but to delve into the cblogs and the forums and to bathe myself in the pure, unadulterated win that Destructoid is. It was a blessing to find a gaming website that wasn't just anonymous internet denizens but seemed to be a real community. In short, this is a community I'd love to be a part of.

And the people that are a part of this community are just plain cool folks. I feel as if I know a good deal of you personally, yet I have never exchanged a single word with you. Banj has made me lul quite hard in the forums on multiple occasions. Gobun as well, especially liked the Blizzcon/Love Destructoid post. Xzyliac(?) always has extremely fleshed out blogs that I love reading, cause I heart muzak. This is the equivalent of stalking, but in a non-harmful manner. Hopefully.

The deciding factor for me to finally stop being an anonymous hit on the site was Niero's 4th anniversary post, in which he called all of us lurkers out and asked us to quit being unknowns. For that, I have to thank him. Not only for making this wonderful place a reality, but for realizing that some of us needed a kick start to get in on this hawt action. And it is, without a doubt, hawt action.

This site has been a haven for me in the time I've haunted its corridors. Even though I never announced my presence it has helped me through tough times. Never actively, but just through all the hilarious items that were posted and the great comments (mostly) that came from them, it helped to buoy my spirits and realize that, honestly, shit ain't that bad. This website has been a friend to me as surely as a living, breathing person. But that's because this site is made up of living, breathing people, who have meshed together with a common agenda: games are awesome, let's hang out.

So, hey, I'm here. I'll flesh out the bio later, just decided to join up a bit ago.
