Welcome Destructoid and sexual malcontents. I'm Andy, some of you will know me as such, or some will know me as "Grammar Nazi Bot 5000".
Either way, I'm a British gamer, hence my impeccable grammar and poor dental hygiene and yes, I do know the queen personally.
Now I know what you're thinking, does masturbating on an aeroplane make you a member of the mile high club? No, no it doesn't, just a wanker.

As an impoverished and un-employed 22 year old ex-student, you can imagine I do little with my time apart from playing video games and watching TV. However, if you made that assumption you would be completely wrong, for you have forgotten that all British people are James Bond-esque secret agents. So this blog and video gaming is obviously just my cover.

Max Payne is anything but forgotten, possibly one of the best games I have ever played, a master piece way before it's time and it seems Hollywood will never forget that to make money you have to make poor movies about things people like and they'll always pay to see it.

Usually developers butcher movies the second they're released in the cinemas such as any superhero movie and Treyarch's most likely bad attempt at the upcoming Quantam of Solace game, but doing the reverse is quite rare in comparison. Looking back at Hollywood's attempts to translate gaming to film we have a terrible excuse for Doom and a failure so epic in the form of Tomb Raider that not even her unrealistic bussom could save it. Please, please do not even get me started on Alone in the Dark, shame on you Christian Slater, SHAME ON YOU.

However since this game has been out for years and nothing has been made, we can remain hopeful that they have had the time to come up with something good and that Mark Wahlberg, hot off the heels of his horrific acting in The Happening, wont ruin it for everyone.

Watch the trailer below and see for your self. What do you think? Will this be just another let down? Or for once will Hollywood and even more unrealistically Mark Wahlberg make a good job of a game adaptation?

Ignore all the people that are shitting on you, they forget that a lot of people DO NOT read every blog, visit the site frenquently or keep up to date with the latest videogame related news.

Give the dude a break guys, he is only trying to spread the good word about the movie. Also THIS BLOG POST is miles better than the half assed ones which only feature the video and NOTHING else, cept maybe a sentence or two. He DID feature a very good analysis about vidyagames movies.

Thanks Duke for doing a service to us gamers and spreading the word about this move, let's hope it does the phenomenal games justice. Also, whats with the hate of DOOM?

It was'nt Shakespeare, that I agree with, but what exactly did you expect from a movie based on a game that encouraged shooting the shit out of aliens? The game iself was'nt much more than dumb, bloody, gory fun, like the film.

That face shows everything that was wrong with the movie.

The movie was alright, the action okay but I didn't really feel it did my memory of the game justice, I guess I like my game-movies like I like my women, blood soaked but with good acting and a nice story.
