Build A gaming pc for $400

Well the years almost over, i hope you all had a wonderful time with your family. But with the end of the holidays some of you may be into cash. With next gen around the corner i will do my best to convince you to get on pc instead instead of a new console.Considering i just finished a new build(specs of my current build will be posted at the end of this little guide.) Direct links will be at bottom of post as well.

Okay so lets start with your processor. The thing what runs that thing what you play them video-majegers on. Anyways well be using the AMD A10-5800K 3.8GHz Processor. This Amd apu with integrated graphics equivalent to the Amd 6670 will give you a great amount of bang for your buck.

Your motherboard is another key and integral part of your build. You'll want something that gives you the best bang for your buck. For this i chose the ASRock FM2A75M-DGS MATX FM2. Theres nothing fancy about this board but it does what we need it to do. It is worth noting the usb 3.0 header support.

Apu's work using system ram, the faster the ram you use the better. But were also trying to be cost conscious well me using the G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series DDR3 1600MHz. Not the fastest but at 54 dollars its quite good, the heat on the ram will allow for a slight overclock if you want that performance boost from the apu.

This hard-drive is nothing special but it works, and it's cheap, and that what we want in this build. So for that were using the Seagate Barracuda 500gb 7200rpm. Its a relatively fast enough hard-drive and will work as intended. The 500gigs will allow for lots of games installs before you need to get a new one with more capacity.

This case is nothing special but it allows decent airflow, gives moderate enough room, and gives you an elegantly simplistic look to your rig. It also has a usb 3.0 port, allowing you to take advantage of that usb 3.0 header on the motherboard.

Power Supply(~$62)
The one part of this build we wont cheap out on. In fact the one part of a build you should never cheap out on is the power supply. If you do find one better for cheaper good for you, but make sure its from a well recommended brand(thermal take, Corseair, Cooler Master, Sesonic,Antec,Enermax,XFX are some) also make sure it's 80 plus certified. If not the psu could fry your system and a fried system is a useless system, as well as a waste of good cash.

The total price for this system is around $381 dollars, and this system would handle 1080p and 720p gaming pretty well. I aimed for $400 or under, that likely what the next gen consoles will cost and i aimed to give you something that would likely compete with it while leaving room for upgrades when you felt the inclination to do so. With steam's holiday sale on as well...

"Fake Nerd Girls"

The beloved Jim Sterling recently released a new episode of his wonderful Jimqusition in which he spoke of fake nerd girls. Ordinarily i watch Jimqesition agree with what Jim says and leave it at that but this recent episode has warranted enough emotional feeling for me to get off my lazy ass and object to Jim's views. So here we go i guess.......

so angry

"Why can't you just ignore them?"

Jim often times ask's why cant we just ignore these "Fake Nerd Girls." Why can't we simply let them be the attention seeking..things...they are and go on with our lives? Well for me the answer is pretty simple Jim, I'm far from the most social person, in-fact i dread meeting new people. I have a sadly soul crushing fear of messing up in front of these people i don't know and rightly shouldn't give a shit about...but i do. However one of my saving graces when meeting new people is activities. Hobbies, pastimes, games, books, movies. These things ease a deep seated and irrational fear-one a admittedly feel ashamed about.

I use those things to speak people, and those very Nerdy things i take an interest in, the things that allow me to get the confidence to speak-because one i get over the mountain of fear its all a smooth ride from there- are a herculean strength I've not only fallen back to on numerous occasions but have allowed me to make friends. To meet people who see me as me and not that socially awkward giant standing in the back of the room.

So when i meet someone-female or game- who seem to share my interest, who i feel i'd be able to talk to because were similar at least in some way i feel a silent joy. I feel as if the entire world isn't out to crush my and my social awkwardness.

Why i hate(dislike) them....

Now you might ask what this has to do with why i have a deep seeded dislike for these "fake nerd girls." Well I'm gonna be upfront because they make me feel stupid. I use my interest to gather my courage, to feel as if I'm not some socially awkward introvert who cant properly speak to people face to face. So when I've rounded up my courage, used my secret strength, and spoken to someone who i believe to like the same things i like only to find out they only have the most shallow understanding of what I'm speaking off...well i feel angry.

As irrational as it is i feel anger, true deep seated rage, at both them for "lying" to me about who they were and myself for needing such a stupid crutch to speak with a person like normal. To find out someone i had to push myself to work up the courage to speak too only has a shallow knowledge of what they drew me in with, and that i had to work up so much courage just to speak to someone makes me angry. It drives home my shame at myself, my own ineptitude, and highlights them as well....evil i guess. I'm not good with words. But i hope this at least conveyed some of what i wanted to tell you guys. Hopefully my writing will get better.   read

Hello Dtoid.

Okay, so i have been putting this off for a while but i finally decided to get off my lazy ass and be somewhat productive. This is my dtoid intro cblog intro, the real deal guys. Now i barely comment in the dtoid posts page (mostly cause im lazy and i feel most posts don't warrant the time and effort it would take to convert my thoughts into actually coherent and well written words) so some of you may not know me. So let me introduce myself.

My name is Stephen. I'm am African (not African American), and I am mostly well spoken though i do occasionally fall into rants of raving madness.

I am large, just about 6'4 and i peek around 220ib. I'm also a shade or two away from what you would call Nigerian black.

That is not me off-course im 17 and still somewhat look the part. But imagine a gentlemen of that shade plus a shade or two darker. I enjoy a number of different games genres, i enjoy races, sims, strategy and of course fps's.

My hobbies are reading, running, and art(im not too good at one of those though). I plan to write blogs that you guys will hopefully like.

I like hard scifi books, and space operas.I guess thats it. On a side note despite my name, im mostly a serious well grounded individual. Thats all of it i recon.   read
