So, if you haven't figured it out yet the winner of last weeks choice was Luigi's Mansion, and WOW, what a start. Well played ladies and gents, I had forgotten how good this game was. For any of you who don't know, the main point of these reviews of mine are to point out which games in my collection are still worth my time. In this busy world of mine what games are worth keeping. So each week, or every other week, I will let you guys and or ladies pick the next game on the list. So, Luigi's Mansion. If you haven't had a chance to play this game in the last nine years, then something is wrong. That is unless you never owned a Gamecube or still haven't purchased a Wii. Let's get my base impressions out of the way. Gameplay: Awesome, it is a mix between Ghostbusters and Pokemon, with a bass fishing mechanic of sorts. Soundtrack: The sound effects and voice over work are cute and quirky for a load of laughs. Graphics: The cartoon type of CG animation used holds up extremely well.



It is no wonder this was the fifth best selling Gamecube games. It is also a Gamecube launch title which explains it's polish. This game takes place in the Mario universe minus Mario, which is pretty rare. Luigi gets his chance to shine, his comedic timing is something I think has been missing from most new Mario titles. If you know anyone who hasn't played games in a while , but might have bought a Wii as a fad or for their kids then this is the game to get them back. There are a lot of games like this for the Gamecube as well as the Wii. I think we get lost sometimes and only play what's new out there but just because you missed a game doesn't mean you can't go back to it. And, if you aren't fortunate enough to have a significant other who games, this game has a little something for everyone. Whether they perfer the cute art style or Luigi's panic laced voice work, which can be qued up at the push of a button.



So for all of you out there that are just as busy as me Luigi's Mansion isn't a waste of your time. It only took me about 7 hours in total to beat the game, and to be honest that was the only bad thing I could say about it. The boss battles, like any good puzzle game take a little getting used to, until you find their weakness. That's where the bass fishing mechanic comes in, you can catch the ghosts by sucking them up and dragging it in the opposite direction. The game's last boss battle is very satisfying once beaten, and your ending house's size is based on how much money you have collected. If you have about ten to fifteen bucks you should be able to pick this game up online, or you might be able to find a copy at your local Gamestop or Play N' Trade. Either way Luigi's Mansion is a great way to blow a weekend and have a good time.
