About Me
Myself:

I am a Ph. D. chemisty from the University of California, Berkeley and current West Coast Community Manager and Fight Manager. I have been playing videogames since as long as I can remember! My past favorite games include Secret of Mana, TMNT: Turtles in Time, the Resident Evil series (Jill is SUCH as master of unlocking), FFVII, Smash Bros Melee, and many others.

I've definitely gone through phases in my gaming "career". I used to LOVE fighting games in the time of Tekken Tag and Marvel vs Capcom II (my favorite fighting game), but now I find myself drawn to the more story driven games, and very recently, the music games....:)

But....fighting games are making a comeback! SFIV! MvC3! BlazBlue! Beware everyone, Tactix has put a quarter on the screen and is challenging you for battle!

Current games I'm playing:

Marvel vs Capcom 3
Dead Space 2
Find Mii (:P)

It was mere chance that brought me to Destructoid back in early 2007, and through it all I've stayed because of the great writing staff, a community that cares, and lots of new internet and IRL friends. Destructoid has changed my life. True story.

I'm also now the West Coast Community Manager who leads DtoidSF and helps coordinate Dtoid groups all over the world. So hit me up if you have any concerns about starting a new group, or where the group nearest to you is! :D

Hey all! (Warning, pics overload)

I had the most amazing opportunity this weekend to travel down to LA with Topgear and attend the Halloween party! We arrived on late Friday night and Aerox picked us up from the airport. The next day, we were taken to the most AMAZING burger and beer place, named Father's Office. If anyone is ever in the LA area, you HAVE to check this place. Their burgers allow for no substitutions, because they are PERFECT. I'm sure I have never in my life had a burger that tasty ever. Not only that, their sweet potato fries were the perfect compliment. I'm sure Aerox would have no problem showing you where this place is.

But of course, the whole reason of going to LA was not eating burgers, but seeing the community! After a quick stop at Chad's (and meeting the famous Luna in person! <3 <3), we took off to KyleGamegee's place! Upon arriving Rock Band was already underway, and the inflatable slide was just getting set up...

Inflatable slide?

Oh yes, there was a humongous inflatable slide at this party. Apparently this slide is a staple of parties held at Kyle's place, and for good reason....It was so much fun! Most of us tore away from Rock Band and just sat at the top of the slide trying to hold steady. Even though we did have a couple of "Cliffhanger" moments. Yours truly ended up falling of the back of the slide and losing his drink all over the slide! (*tear*)

Even when things seemed to be settling down, we had a late entry to the party. KNIIIIIIIIIIVES all the way from Mexico showed up with a bottle of Tequila and we drank that while playing Scene It! on the 360. I learned that Chad and Topgear are really damn good at that game, and when drunk, I'm a pretty good guesser :P

Sunday began with a brunch with Chad, Aerox, Knives, TGG and myself at a place named "Swingers" complete with naked bicyclists on the menu and an awesome sassy waitress :P. We had to drop Knives off to return to Mexico, and then ended up killing time making Topgear frustrated by beating him in Smash Bros. and then walking down the Promenade in Santa Monica. As the sun came down at around 6:00PM in LA, we were SO SAD to have to return to our boring lives away from all the amazing Dtoiders in LA :(

Anyway, Topgear and I had a blast down in LA, and have to give our thanks now. Thanks goes out to Aerox and Chad for letting us crash at your places Friday and Saturday night and being great hosts <3 I love you guys SOO MUCH :D. Also thanks to Kyle and Donna for being so welcoming at your house and throwing an amazing party! Naia, Dexter, Knives, and all the other people at the party, it was great hanging out with you atop the big slide and reminding me of how much I love everyone involved in this site.

You know....I have only 2-3 years left in this program, and when I graduate...I'm sure I'll need to find a university to do more research or teach at. I'm pretty sure there are tons in the LA area....Just saying...

Also, Topgear likes to touch monkeys.

So THAT'S what Father's office is. I was always too lazy to search for it, and whenever Aerox tweeted about it I was always like 'lol wut?'.

That looks like an awesome time. I mean, you can't really go wrong with an enormous inflatable slide, even if you fall off and lose your drink.
