In my line of work I meet many an interesting person, my new favorite (at my new branch) is by far the person who visited today. Another rep, but this one came bearing video treats for myself and the staff, after a nifty GOW2, Banjo and Fable Trailer I sparked up a topic that's been bothering me for a while.
But, he had no news on Fallout 3. In-house marketing apparently.
So the next topic that came up is the subject of this blog, GTAIV. The Microsoft rep was more than willing to further my speculations on the game. He said that Rockstar generally allow Microsoft to do the UK marketing - hence some of the cool stuff some retailers had on the launch of IV - but obviously he could do little bar speculate on the downloale content
Just speculation, friendly banter between two people in different ends of the gaming industry, but I'll put here what he believed about the content, what he'd collated from, I guess, the main rumours around 'fancy-smanshy headquarters'.
The content - Available 'around' November - contains 10-15 missions where you play as Roman just as he's got of the boat and is setting up his buisness in Liberty City.
At least, as I said, that's what he was under the belief it was.
Personally, I was just expecting maybe a few buisness ownership things, akin to Vice City and (Apparently) Godfather 2, paired with maybe a third wave of weapons. (Sword, Silenced Pistol, Longer range Rifle, Heavy Machine gun, Flamethrower - stuff they need if they don't want Saints Row 2's unrealisim to yoink their gamers come launch).
Interesting anyway - I don't remember Roman being particually gung-ho, so I can't imagine how it would work, but speculation can never be bad.
So come on, what's your thoughts on this?
Throw in a flamethrower, a heavy gun and a Sandvich ("RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW") and I'll be satiated.
Oh yeah, and hte katana, which the baseball bat animations CLEARLY are made for.
"Loading...Big American TITTIES!!!"
Remember the Biker gang war that's all over the radio in GTA4 but never touched in gameplay? Yeah..... durr.
I really can't see MS paying 50 mil for "10-15 missions" either. Wasn't it said in an interview that the DLC would be large scale? And seriously, 10-15 missions would take this long to make?
No chance.
