Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I will go play it again...I got stuck and i started to think you couldn't get to an ending. Made me think that the game was trying to comment even further on the idea that people get stuck in the grind of daily working class monotony. I really enjoyed this game, so thanks for bringing it to my attention.
It also wouldn't have surprised me at all if they had done that. The game sends a lot of different messages lol
Would you feel comfortable commenting on the final ending? No worries if you want to keep this post as story-free as possible, but I'm curious as to your take on it.
Also, I liked that you seem to have really thought about what you saw and how it related to you. It makes this whole thing, I don't know, more personal?
I had a few thoughts on what the final ending was trying to show. First thought was that he was watching someone who has a life, boring and repetitive like his. He was seeing what happens to people who just give up on their boring lifestyle and don't do the little things here and there to change it up a bit.
Second thought, was that he was sort of, thinking about committing suicide. Which is why his whole life wasn't there. His wife wasn't in the kitchen, elevator lady wasn't there, no cars, no boss, no workers. It was like this because he wasn't thinking about his life, so it symbolizes sort of how he was ignoring everything because he only had one thing on his mind. Then you get to the ledge. Where he is watching himself commit suicide. Then the game ends symbolizing that he doesn't go through with it, or maybe he does. You kinda get to create your own ending.
