About Me

Umm, I'm Andrew. I live in Southern California and I've been playing video games since I was old enough to hold a controller. I watch way too much Pro Wrestling (yeah I know it's "fake"), and I have turned Rock Band Drums into serious business.

I also have a reputation for doing stupid things on Stickam when the YAY! M&M's! room is up.

I tried to whore D-Toid at a WWE show...
Suff0cat | 2:53 AM on 11.19.2007 39 comments

And failed...kinda.

I went to Monday Night Raw a couple weeks ago when they were at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. I was bored the night before, so I made an incredibly half-assed D-Toid sign because I figured it would be the easiest thing to spot if it got on TV, and of course because I love the Toid.

I did manage to get on TV, but the sign didn't come across very well, hence the "kinda fail" thing.

(its my blog so I don't care if this stretches your screen)

Yeah, turns out silver sharpie doesn't really work on TV.

Here's a regular picture of the sign so you can all mock my artistic ineptitude.

Like I said, incredibly half-assed. I didn't even have a green sign, I just used a bunch of green masking tape I had laying around.

But never fear! I've got second row seats on the camera side for the next RAW show they do in So-Cal. February 18th at the Honda Center, keep an eye out for it my fellow WWE-watching D-Toiders.

And I'm gonna make a better sign for it. A real green sign, red reflective tape for the eyes, tin foil for the silver parts, the whole works.

So bring forth the "You fail for going to wrestling shows" comments.

Because we all know you are so much better for watching your completely non-homo sports. Sports like football, with a bunch of beefed up dudes wearing spandex pants. And that whole part where one guy bends over, and another guy stands directly behind him with his hands between his legs while waiting to grab a ball. Yeah...totally hetero.

Is this post awesome? Vote it up!

Well, as stated in the previous blog that showed up on here, wrestling is fake and corny, and is generally too stupid for anyone but kids to take seriously.

As for making that sign and showing it off, Awesome! Sure, the sign is kind of a fail, but you got the point across and next time you'll do better, wont you?

Of course wrestling is fake, corny, and stupid. That's why it's fun!

The attempt is still awesome, even if the sign is kinda fail. :)

Use neon green oaktag next time. Good effort, though!

The important thing is that you tried. And that wrestling sucks. (I hate all sports equally.)

This one's for kobewan:

I will do better, I stated that near the end.

And yes I know that wrestling is corny and the results are predetermined, but I still find it fun to watch. It's like an action movie, you know it's all fake but you suspend your disbelief and let it entertain you for a couple hours.

Plus over the years I've kind of gained a weird respect for wrestlers. They go out there and bust their asses year round for a fake championship and way less money than any other "Professional" athlete. Yet they never complain like all those prima donna Major League players who pitch little bitch fits in the media when a team won't give them a raise on their 10 million dollar a year salary.

Nice job. I haven't been to a wrestling event in awhile, there is a PPV coming to Pittsburgh next month, I may try to go to that.

Awesome sign. Sucky to be the person directly behind this robotic sign though, haha.

kobewan0824 is probably the type of person who watches movies like Spider-Man and says "That is so fake!" Good job being a prick, lol.

This is brilliant, you are cooltastic.

When the WWE came to Brisbane the Entertainment Centre that hosted them banned signs, but I snuck in a "I can't see me" one anyway. Bunch of kill-joys.

And I'll say it again, wrestling (at it's best) is a goddamn artform similar to Kabuki and No theatre through their shared use of highly stylized characters, looks and movements. Break down your favourite wrestler and their moves into what you like about them and you will see what I mean.

Kobewan, I, Archangel, pledge to deliver unto you my finisher, a modified samoan drop to piledriver I call the "Fall from Grace", then you will understand the coolness of wrestling.

Whoa there! I wasn't being a prick. I was simply stating my disdain for wrestling. As it is, real sports bring in a hell of a lot more money, so the players have more of a right to higher salaries. After all, without star athletes, who would want to see any professional games? I did tell the guy he did a good job and it was cool. It's always good to spread the message of Dtoid to anyone. So I'm not being a prick. And no, I don't watch Spiderman movies and think it's fake. That shit is awesome. I absolutely love Batman and Spiderman.

100% non-fail. I think it's so cool that you did this and that you also found a shot where it actually showed up on TV. Nice work. Bravo!

How about I post occasional updates as I mess with the sign so you all can approve it or tell me what needs fixing?

And I'll definitely be posting a blog with pictures after the event. As long as I get the sign in the arena, I guarantee it will show up on TV and be seen by about 5 million people (according to the Nielsen ratings).

That's pretty cool, but must be dissapointing to do all that work and not get it the message out clearly.

Still, I think it's awesome. You won't see Joystiq or Kotaku signs at a wrestling show.
