Hello and welcome to “Games worth your time”! This first time, I take a look at the online FPS Team Fortress 2.
Some of you might wonder where the third part of my Super Metroid playthrough is. I didn’t play it yesterday, so I can’t write a blog entry about it, right? So, I’m going to give you my opinion on the only game I played yesterday: Team Fortress 2!
Team Fortress 2 is a game I always play when I want to listen to a podcasts. Why? Because sound isn’t very important in this game, so it doesn’t matter what I listen to. I play this game about two or three hours a week, so I come back to it in a regular base.
Team Fortress 2 is a team based online FPS with 9 different classes. These classes are extremely well balanced! I really have to give the devs credit for this: there isn’t a single situation which couldn’t be solved by at least one of the different classes. In fact, I have to say that this game never got frustrating to me, unlike other online FPS’es. This doesn’t mean you don’t need any skills. You have to know the class you’re playing or you’ll suck! But you’ll get into it in no time.
The arenas are, until now, interesting and well designed. The graphics have a comic-like feel to them, but it doesn’t hurt the game at all. In fact, I think that this game has one of the greatest humor in the whole industry. The game doesn’t take itself to serious and all the characters are totally unique, which is somewhat new in the online FPS genre.
Motivation is always high, because of achievements which can accumulate in new, more effective weapons with different functions. This is never a real game breaker, but there are only 3 classes that already got new weapons. But turn by turn, there will be new achievement packs for the other classes. There are also new maps and modes coming along.
Is it worth your money? Yes, I played 26 hours until now (2 months)!
Is it worth your time? Yes, it’s great fun!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Nope... it's Captain Obvious!
I don't think they are saying he did a bad job. In fact I had a very amusing read, good blog, but the people that read this blog usually love TF2 anyway. So Yea TF2!!!
