If I had mine, I might be happy with it. But since I don't have one, I don't know if I'm happy with it.
I have to say, I'm pretty happy with mine. I don't regret buying it in the least, although I wish that they had the kind of third party support that Microsoft does. But then, I have enough problems with the 360, XBL, and Microsoft in general that I don't want to buy an Xbox 360, and I can't find a Wii to buy at the moment.
Sony keeps making stupid decisions, but I still enjoy the system and what few games it has. The Darkness, for example, is FAR better on the PS3, in my opinion.

Mixed feelings to be honest. I love some of the things that have come out for it, but overall I've used it much more for playing old ps2 games that I missed last generation (meaning I essentially have a $600 ps2). Bluray is kinda neat i guess, and Folklore and Ratchet will ease the pain a little, but I'm honestly more looking forward to when the 360 red ring problem gets sorted out, so I can finally buy one.
Well it depends on the type of games that you would like to play. Also if you compare it with a 360 then you should take the multi-platform titles out of the equation to see the worth of the system. If you are a FPS fan then 360 should be an easy choice for you since almost every 360 title is a FPS. If you want to have more variety in your games then the PS3 would be the better route. However at the moment the PS3 exclusive title list is kinda slim but next year is when several system seller looking games will come out that are not all FPS.
Milofo: I'm not sure I agree with removing multiplatform games from the equation when comparing the ps3 and 360 since these games are almost always better on the 360 (in terms of grapics and online capabilities).
Also, I'm not sure that I agree that Ps3 games have more variety (at least not right now; after Folklore, ratchet, and uncharted come out your argument will hold more water).

Milfo: They did a study on 360 games and it was roughly around 10% or so that were FPS titles. Article's on GamePro.
yeah I pretty happy with mine
sure the games right now are not extraordinary but hits are coming in the near future

I'm not. At least nott yet. I can tell the hardware is slick as hell and I'm not afraid to leave it on. It really does feel like it's worth the money. But at the same time, I don't really have anything to play on it. I was looking forward to Lair (turned out to be crap), Heavenly sword (turned out to be too short w/o multplayer), and Warhawk (Not as fun as I'd hoped).
I've decided not to sell it since this time next year, it will probably have a really good line up. The only probalem is that I'll have to wait for this time next year. If I didn't have either system today, I'd still buy a Xbox360 first in a heart beat.

I'm having a great time with mine. I got mine used though. It's a 20GB and came with Resistance for less than 400$ shipped off of Ebay. Since then I've bought Motorstorm, WarHawk, and Heavenly Sword. Heavenly Sword is really epic, but yes it is short. Regardless of it's brevity, it is worth playing through. The production value and story alone make it worth it. Motorstorm is great fun online, but I hardly ever played the single player game. I just got online and played. It doesn't receive all that much attention though since Warhawk came out. I love Warhawk. It's forgiving with it's controls and accuracy for an FPS game and it's incredibly well balanced. There is always something to counter something. And there is much variety in the vehicles abilities.
I'm very much looking forward to Rachet and Clank. I'm pretty busy though, so I don't have whole days to spend playing like some others around Dtoid. Which means even a game like Heavenly Sword is long enough to make it worth the 60$. I've also got a Wii and DS keeping me busy when I'm not blowing shit up in Warhawk.

I got my PS3 a couple of months back - I got it at 2nd hand price cus the guy that had it originally tried to make a quick buck on eBay, but ultimately failed.
I've had a great time with it even if there aren't many killer titles out yet. Tis a pity that Sony seems to enjoy screwing over the European market

That may be so but that doesn't mean that the non-FPS games are worth a damn. Just go here and look up the top games for the 360 and you'll find that most are some shooter game or a game that is multi-platform. Granted the top games for the PS3 as of now do not show too much variety which is why I said next year will probably be PS3's year.

I'm happy with the hardware. It's solid, reliable, and everything about it is slick and wonderful. The controller feels great and there's some high production values being pumped into all the new titles.
And yet, it collects the most dust in my house. I'm really looking forward to some of the epic titles in the works. Heavenly Sword was a fantastic start. Everything about the PS3 feels like its something I'm going to truly love in 2-3 years. I said the same thing about the Saturn though.
In the short term I'd love to see more small, high quality games for it. This is what Nintendo does well: bite-sized fun experiences. I think they're starting to do that on the PS3 network as well.
Can't wait to see Home in action!
