360 Wireless Headset Issues?
Styles B LKV | 4:59 PM on 06.24.2008 6 comments

So last Wednesday night I was going to play some CoD with buddies as we all had planned to rank up a few times. As I turned on my mic I came to a terrifying realization, my headset was dead.

At first a was a little angry but figured maybe it just needed to be plugged in but still nothing. I trued turning off the system and trying again and still nothing. Desperation started to set in as I tried a different charge cable in the rear USB port and yet again I got nothing. I even tried charing it with a USB port on my computer. FInally I gave up and spent the night finishing MGS4 then Thursday afternoon I went to get a new headset and have had no problems.

Fast forward to an hour ago, I'm enjoying my recently downloaded Avenged Sevnfold tracks on Rock Band when I get a message from my friend so after the sog I go and unplug my headset and turn it on... or not. Instantly I know I'm screwed so I skip desperation and panic and go straight to being angry. I call Micro$oft Tech Support hoping they'd send me a new on, or atleast they could tell me some kind of voodoo magic to get it working again. Unfortunatly I get an asian lady who I could hardly understand, imagine Jillian from Family guy with an asian voice and you'll get a good idea of what I had to try and listen to.

After 20 minutes of telling her it's a wireless mic and there are no batteries I got sick of repeating myself and came to the conclusion it'll be easier to just go buy yet another mic (Number 6. 4 to dogs, 2 to magic.)

If my headset was older than a week I wouldn't be quite so pissed but this is just ridiculous. Has anyone else had this issue with the wireless headsets? If so is there anyway to remedy the situation other than shelling out for a new mic?

I've had my wireless headset since they first came out and charged through the wall rather than USB, but I've never had any problems with it other than some random disconnects here and there.

Jeeze. I wouldn't be so mad if I didn't just get the damn thing last week. Add that on ot the fact that the lady seemd to ahve no idea what I was calling about, it just drives me up the wall. Atleast my 360 didn't get bricked like my buddy's did today...

I haven't had any problems with mine either, apart from not really using it as much as I probably should.

The only disconnects I get are when I go upstairs. I've been able to use it while on the toilet (and then in the lobby tell people they got killed while I was takin a shit.)and it even works fairly well when I pop outside for a smoke.
