He looks like the most technically intimidating joke character ever created.
Phoenix Phoenix Spencer wins EVO next year. I'm calling it.
BIONIC OBJECTION! HE CAN'T CONTROL IT!

I dunno. Not really impressed with the 3d model work on Phoenix. Concept is brilliant though. Can't wait to see some high end play with him.
Nova get's me excited as a I can figure out what to do with his movesets. I'd tweak his design a bit, but overall he's looking really good.

I don't play fighting games, but it does seem odd to see Phoenix Wright in a fighting game. Still, the way you explain his fighting skills, it kinda makes sense!
Re: Phoenix Wright's moves utilizing Maya, an interview with Seth Killian which was picked apart over at EventHubs revealed that Phoenix's attacks utilizing Maya are a stance, and that he cannot use her while she's already out (much like an assist), and trying to do so will make Phoenix trip. This also effects the hyper combo which utilizes Maya, meaning he can't OTG with Maya into that hyper. I'm sure that you could probably utilize an assist and possibly buy enough time to let her leave and bring her out again, or simply use a different hyper.
I'm with you on Nova as an Anchor, for sure. It's my opinion that one of if not the single most important factor in an anchor isn't necessarily damage (although that is a plus), it's being able to combo off of basically everything you do, and in particular pick your opponent up off the ground to continue that combo, extending your damage dealing potential. After that the most important thing is movement. Finally, some form of mixups are essential, the stronger the better. Add in X-Factor Level 3 and those extended combos become incredibly powerful.
Some of the most powerful anchors currently in MvC3 all share those attributes; OTGs into combo, movement options, mixups. Spencer, Wesker, Sentinel, Phoenix, Dante, Magneto, She-Hulk (to a lesser degree, less movement options), and so on. Nova certainly looks to be a potentially strong anchor with the options he's got. The only thing that might be trouble with Nova is that he expends red life for two of his supers, which limits the healing ability of X-Factor when he's the last one out. However, if the damage he gains to those supers for that red life exchange is good enough, it may be worth the risk.
Excellent writeup.

Nice.
Phoenix Wright looks technical. People are going to pick him up and drop him like a hot potato. One of the most unique in the cast, but not exactly easy to play, it seems. People who practice him alot will be rewarded. I personally can't wait to practice with him. Also, I love that one piece of evidence he can pick up is Servbot.
I think you're spot-on with Nova. I also saw that he has a 8-way dash that he can cancel out of with any move.

Strider, you missed the most important part about these trailers! They now have a Days of the Future Past themed stage complete with 90's cartoon style Sentenel overlords! Not to mention the tease that Megaman may still be a possibility in the future if you check out who is still alive on the giant wanted poster :p
I'm not sure what to think of Phoenix, he is very TvC-ish. I wonder if Frank will be quite as goofy and strange, might give the game a different tone. They gave Nova some interesting moves, but he still seems kinda generic. Oh well, all will be revealed in November!
