As and official member of the DTOID crew, I wondered in the Capcom booth to interview Matt Dahlgren, the marketing man for Resident Evil. He was nice enough to answer my questions and share a little bit of his personal history with the Resident Evil franchise.
Not included in this video are a few important points to bring up about RE and the Wii:
Archives will be presented in 4:3 ratio and most likely 480p.
Why was Barry Burton omitted from Umbrella Chronicles? Matt had never been asked that question before, and was sad that he didn't have an answer for me.
The control scheme for Archives is just like Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, minus the pointer aiming, of course. The contol stick operates the same in the sense that up makes you go forward, down walks backards, left and right turn, and down + A does a 180 degree turn.
When asked about the possibility of Resident Evil 5 on the Wii, Matt simply replied, "No." He's a no bullshit kind of guy.
i was just joking, making fun at all the other wannabes who do a black and white photo with the dream of getting paid to write here. what would be killer is you had a an avatar photo that just said "black and white photo"! i would laugh every time i saw it. lol
Anyway, are they both coming out on the same disk or are they sold separately?
I mean I'm not going to go out and buy them because I have both of the originals but it would be nice to know that people that do buy these are getting decent prices for five year old ports.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
As for an avatar pic, why not use this?
but welcome to last great place on the internet.

That was a good interview. When I heard him dance around denying that they're gonna remake RE2 the 14-year-old inside me started jumping up and down.
