Artist Feature: Arcade Art

Im always very impressed by someone who can take something very recognizable and make it their own. That is exactly what Arcade Art does so well. This amazing artist can take a great game like Mass Effect 2 and create sprites that would make you stop and think Did Bioware really make an 8-bit game?

Or a NES version of Half Life 2.

Even Spanish zombies!

Not only does she do sprite art, check out some of her original paintings!

Thats an amazing artist with a great talent. Make sure to check out her shop on Etsy.   read

Hello World, It's Stitchin' Time!

Hi everyone! Id like to introduce myself. My names Andrea, but you can call me Stitch Please. This is my first post on Destructoid, and Im very new to the community. I found out about this wonderful place through ConfusionBomb and Shadowsinthenyte, both of whom I met at Magfest. You may remember me from the Magfest Artisans post, yup; Im the cross stitch girl. For those of you who want to see more cool cross stitch stuff, boy are you in the right place! As part of introducing myself, Id like to give you an idea of what I make and love to do.

This is the first commission I ever had, and it's still my favorite.

I love these sprites, they're from the Card Gallery.

I do love that cube, and I can't wait for Portal 2!

This is my favorite set of magnets, Black Mage FTW.

I'm working on the Cerberus logo too.

Yup, I made wearable Pokemon badges, because I'm a nerd, that's why.

Just for those who haven't see it, this is the famous Street Fighter stitch. It took three months, and I had Guile's theme playing the whole time.

Mortal Kombat!!!!!!!

For good measure, here's a zombie from Zombie Ate My Neighbors. I <3 LucasArts.

Well now that youve seen all of the cool stuff Ive made, Ive got a promise for you. Ill keep you up to date on all the projects Im doing, but Ill also find more of this cool geekcraft stuff you may be hearing about. So be sure to add me and watch my blog as I find the coolest craftiest stuff for gamers on the internet. Stitch ya later!   read
