About Me

Whats up everyone. I'm Steve if you haven't already guessed. And I do a lot of crap with gaming apparently. I used to host over at XBL Radio but I decided to start my own show up as well as my own site. So I started up a new podcast called, "The Gamers Pub." This show is about beer and games because thats what I know and enjoy best. The show comes out once a week on Monday mornings, you really should check it out, www.thegamerspub.com. The best thing you can do is just let us know what you think about the show, because after all, it is for you gamers out there. Besides that I also run the website, Platform Nation. Now this site is a little bit different then others. Platform Nation is a collaboration of several gaming podcasts who decided it would be best for our gamers, the podcasters and the rest of the gaming community if they came together to share efforts. Together we have a larger voice in the community for the gamers that we strive to speak for. We share the same forums and for the most part, share the same listeners. After all, we are a community, not a network. We have a shared set for forums for all the sites, forums.platformnation.com where we might not all have the same listeners for all the shows but the forums provide us with a place to bs with gamers from all different prospectives or ways of life. We seem to always have contests going on over there as well as weekly Saturday Night Gaming Nights where the community gets together for some friendly fragging or whatever else we are playing that day.

Here are some pics for you all to see what I'm about

And lets finish it of with my sexy wife

So thats me, I guess. I'm just a regular gamer who records myself talking and puts it out as a show.

Sony PS3 Red Screen of Death
Steve519 | 1:53 PM on 04.13.2008 14 comments

So every time I try to adjust my audio output options I am now greeted with Sony’s Red Screen of Death. This has only happened since the last update and now I’m unable to change my audio output because of this.

Has this happened to you? or anyone else you know? Do you know of a way to fix this?

If so please email me at Steve@platformnation.com Thank you.

When that happens on the PSP, it means the Flash0 is corrupted. But you can't get that access on the ps3's. So I have no idea how you managed that.

I saw you have the info bar on the top right. remove that shit, that messes up the games. Not sure if that would actually fix the problem, but I guarantee you will have less problems with games.

Honestly I don't have a answer for that particular problem, probably something with your HDMI settings or cable, I would email sony directly and just send them the youtube link so they can address your problem.

I don't really know much about it, but have you tried to change the settings manually as opposed to automatic?

@Video_Cognito thats what I tried to do was set it manually. I just tried the autosetting feature that the ps3 have and it does fix the audio settings issue. It selects hdmi cable, but it also selects 1080i instead of 720p as default(my tv is 720p and thats what I want my settings at). So when I try to manually fix this I now get a blue screen of death.

So I have the options to go with either what I want on audio, or what I want on video.

Time to call support i guess.

I've never seen this but have you tried the Restore PS3 System option under System Settings?

If the screen is saying the settings information is corrupted, you could try that or the Restore Default settings option. Maybe it'll solve the issue?

I would back up the save files though (if you dont have a flash memory stick, use an ipod or something). It's a shot in the dark and I've never seen it happen or used those options on my PS3 but its worth a try I guess?

But the PS3 is infallible! Do not doubt the power of the almighty cell!!! /sarcasm

I did have a friend get a strange message on his after switching resolutions when he bought a new 1080p set. Happened for 2 days straight every time he went to start a game, then it went back to normal. That was 6 months ago and everything is still working fine.

Personally I've never seen anything like this on my PS3, but my audio and video settings stay pretty static.
