About
I enjoy long walks on the beach and a pina-coladas, at least that's what I feel you are supposed to say in these info boxes. Truth is I am just another geeky guy who loves a lot of things in life but video games are up there towards the top. I stream on Twitch TV and am trying to get more involved with posting some blogs on ideas, rants, and personal thoughts.

I will start by saying that I have not played the previous games in the series and played this with a clean perspective. I loved the game from start to finish, from characters to story. The story is nothing original but Ninja Theory's interpretation on the plot is well executed and I found it intriguing and entertaining. There are only a few weapons by the end but accessing them with just a flick of the finger allows you to craft some pretty beautifully insane combos as you slash, shoot, and pull your way to the end. If you enjoy games like Ninja Gaiden this is right up your alley.

I just finished the game with 90% and I have to say that it was an amazing adventure. This game throws all the punches, starting with one to Lara's face. This game is incredibly cinematic in its presentation, combining quick time events with a vast open world. I found myself on the hunt for each and every little collectible on the island as each one expanded the hidden past. I was constantly combing levels and discovering new parts that I had not seen before, the levels remind me of ogres. And as we all know; Ogres are like onions, they have layers. Then there is the evolution of your weapons building them up with parts found throughout the island and adding modifications with salvage. Controlling Lara and her weapons feels smooth and seamless with her passively taking cover and crouching. I'm sure you all know well enough by now that the graphics are amazing and the new "TressFX" engine created by Crystal Dynamics is beautiful, watching Lara's hair being blown about by the wind adds a touch more realism to the character which is Lara Croft. I personally enjoyed this "Reboot" and cant wait to watch her grow and evolve over the coming years.
