Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Look at your Dual Shock 3.
Look at your 360 controller.
Look at the Classic controller for Wii.
Now look at the DSi.
What's different aside from the screens and gaming hardware?
No girth, no grips, no ergonomics to compliment a dual analog arrangement. If it was added to compensate, the handheld would cease to be a handheld. If dual analog was such a great idea for handhelds, I think Sony and Nintendo would have done it by now.
I've only had my PSP a year, I've tried to avoid using the analog nub whenever as much as possible and even then its worn out to the point it sometimes doesn't work properly. I don't want to spend $200 to replace it.
Touch screens, cameras and accelerometers - all of which the 3DS has, can do a good degree of compensation for the lack of a second analog stick. You just haven't seen it applied yet, so be patient and trying it before you knock it.
Dual analog is hideously imprecise anyway.
Also, as TriplZer0 said this isn't much of a blog post you could have shared your thoughts on the 3DS's design.
While I'm no fan of the "the claw" approach for PSP in Monster Hunter, most camera issues in PSP games can just be addressed by tapping L to have the camera snap behind the character. Works just fine for Phantasy Star Portable 2 and Kingdom Hearts. Don't see why it wouldn't on 3DS.
