Erm, aren't you overreacting a bit? This is probably a part of NintendoLand (just judging by the art direction and the focus on the Gamepad). I think it's incredibly presumptuous to assume this is the direction every Wii U Nintendo game with go in.
Honestly, rather than focusing on one small aspect of a mini-game collection, I'd be more worried about the PS360 ports and New Super Mario Bros. U existing. Then again, Nintendo refuses to really let us know anything about the Wii U besides the basics. And I wouldn't expect the September 13th event to reveal anything aside from price and launch date either.
Anyways I'm still looking forward to Wii U, mostly because Nintendo's exclusives are reason enough for me.

New Super Mario Bros U looks fun,but my problem with it is that it seems so similar to all other New Super Mario Bros games.. :(
It doesn't seem next-gen. I haven't seen any 'exotic' use of the new controller by this game yet,and its graphics look like a N64 game.
Each way you see it,its underwhelming.

I don't want to sound rude so I'll just apologize in advance but, if you think the games Nintendo will be releasing for the Wii U at launch look no better than N64 games then I think you may need to have your eye's checked.
Hey taterchimp,I think your post is irrelevent. In this blog I write about Balloon trip, what does Balloon Trip have to do with NSMBU or Zelda anyway ?
And in that comparison that doesn't fit to the topic of the blog, you compare 2D games with 3D games, which doesn't feel right. It would be more reasonable and fair to compare 2D games with 2D games.
Speaking of N64 2D games, take a look how games like Yoshi's Story looked and compare these with SMBU.
ChillyBilly, except from Pikmin and Nintendo World all other Nintendo first party games we have seen until now are 2d games with very simplistic visuals. Mario Bros U,the new Rayman game, and even the mini-game I was specifically writing about,Ballon Trip are all 2d,and could be done on consoles many generations older. But still you speak as if I say that all WiiU games will look bad while this isn't the case.
The point of this blog is that I was surprized that Nintendo decided to make and spread a trailer for a WiiU game, and that this trailer happened to be the trailer of Balloon Trip,a game which doesn't show anything new or exciting at all. I didn't say WiiU won't have better games than Balloon Trip and I wonder why you jump on conclusions. I criticized Nintendo's choice to promote its new hardware with a trailer for a game that obviously except from the stylus controls (which I hate) has nothing new in it and could have been released on Wii,or even Gamecube,or whatever...
