About Me
I am 36, male, and have been gaming since I could first hold any sort of joystick, trakball, or controller of any sort.
As one of "the olds", obviously my job (in retail hell) and other "mature" factors mean I don't game anywhere near as much as some people, but rest assured, they are always on my mind. I hope to talk about a variety of things in my blog, not just video games even though that's what Destructoid is all about. I primarily game on my Xbox 360 and my iPad, though occasionally I will play stuff on my laptop, though it's pretty rare since it really doesn't run games too well.
I also enjoy electronic music, films, literature, and daydreaming about one day becoming a deer with angel wings.
Thank you for stopping in, please come again!

Sightseeing in Liberty City...

If there's one thing that really disappointed me about GTAIV is that Rockstar didn't include any way to take photos in the game. One of the awesome things about San Andreas, was being able to take photos with your camera and then post images wherever you wanted (with the right save-game viewing tools). Considering how easy it probably would have been, it's one of those things they deserve a little hand-slap for, especially after the jaw-dropping example set by Halo 3 for allowing you to go back into your gameplay to make movies or photos. So, unfortunately people are forced into taking pictures of their TV screens.
But, sometimes even that can be entertaining.

I came across this link to a neat Flickr album of comparisons between Liberty City and the real NYC.

So I guess playing GTA4 is a little bit like actually visiting NYC. And killing everyone there.

That's a pretty slick album, I'd have never known how much detail they really threw in without seeing something like this...

While I don't fault you for wanting a picture feature, I can't say you can really use the Halo 3 thing as a good example...I mean, Halos enviroments and the way you play through are completely different in that respect...

Who knows, maybe that becomes part of some DLC...Like Ambulance/Fire Truck missions...(hoping, not confirmed).

I should have clarified...I didn't mean LITERALLY the same system as Halo because, yeah, that'd be impossible. But considering SA had the camera AND the 30 second replay feature, the omission of both here in such a next-gen environment struck me as odd.

I wish they did add that feature. The 360 in general doesn't have great "photo" taking features. Would have been easy with the whole Rockstar Social site too. They got the cellphone to do the whole "email you a link to buy the song from the radio" deal, why not stick a camera on that cell too :P
