About Me
1. I work in a place outside the trappings of reality. Sadly whenever I tell people about my job they dont believe me.

2. I play games way to much. But sadly for the amount of time i spend playing games, I am really not that good.

3. Just incase you ever wondered, -30 degrees air temp hurts when you dont wear a coat. -65 degree windchills make you feel like dying when you try work in it.

This is what 15 minutes outside in -30 degrees looks like.

4. http://twitter.com/squirrelpope .... i tend to BS about my odd days a lot more than i should...it might be interesting if you need to waste some time heh

Why do you torment me Street Fighter 2
Squirrel Pope | 8:26 AM on 03.08.2009 6 comments

What is it about Street Fighter 2? Why must I own so many copies of it?

I spent a lot of time during the end of my high school and begning of college life in arcades playing Street Fighter 2 (all its versions), so perhaps its just me trying to stay young. But last night I downloaded Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix (long enough name?) That brings my running total of Street Fighter 2 games to 6. (I know its not all of them...I have lost a few over the years I think)
Heres what i own...and still play

SNES:
Street Fighter 2

Genesis:
Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition
Super Street Fighter 2

PS1
Street Fighter 2 collection

XBOX 360
Street Fighter 2 HF
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix

On my Genesis I have 2 sweet 6 button Sega Arcade Sticks so I tend to play on that the most, but I love the online action from the XBOX 360 so I can play my old high school pal (who was in the arcade with me every day) who now lives in California.

I really cant put my finger on it though, I always end up buying something with a Street Fighter 2 name for whatever system I play. I never played any Street Fighter 3, and im not really interested in Street Fighter 4. I did play the Street Fighter Alpha series but I never owned it, just borrowed it from friends or played at thier house.

Anyone else here hopelessly addicted to Street Fighter 2 like me?

As a matter of fact, yes.

Question; if they had named Street Fighter IV "Street Fighter II 3D Remix", would you be more interested in it?

i would be more inclined to try it at an arcade. I hear IV is pretty good

but if it had a SF2 tag on it i would probably buy it blindly without seeing if it was any good heh

A New Challenger

My favorite part is that I effectively have 4 copies of Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Not shown: Capcom Classics Collection, which has the three without "Super" in the title. One day I'll probably get the second volume.
