So it seems that James Silva, of "Dishwasher" fame, is poised to cash in on Xbox Live Indie Games by publishing his own version of the ubiquitous controller rumble / "massage" app.
Or is he really?
Well, he has submitted a massage app "game" for Playtest in the XNA Creators Club. But I guess by the title:
GamePad.SetVibration();
and the description:
I made this app to illustrate how simple it is to make a stupid massage game. It literally took less than 15 minutes from File > New Project... to now, yet somehow is more tasteful than Rumble Massage.
that this massage-app version will probably not really show up on the Xbox Live marketplace...
He also posted the full source code for this "game" in the Creators Club forum (about 2 pages long) so that other developers may have a chance to make big $$$ too. How nice of him! :-)
This has even already developed into a nice little discussion, with other developers chiming in with tasteful suggestions on how to make the code even better and shorter!
Actually, James currently also has another game up for Playtest, with the interesting name:
I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1
(I had to copy & paste this so that I would get the spelling absolutely correct!)
For this one, the description goes like this:
This video game product represents a culmination of years of intensive psychological research, bleeding edge engineering, and artistic collaboration by over two dozen internationally recognized art houses, using such technologies as the HYPERMAGIC 3.0 engine to power never-before-seen eye candy with the MEGACORE X parallelization processor for smooth-as-glass presentation.
and it definitely looks a lot more interesting than "GamePad.SetVibration();". And yes, judging from the screenshots there will be quite a few Zombies (sorry, Z0MB1ES) in this one...
