About Me
Hello, Dtoid...I've been lurking about under the radar for a few months and have decided that it's time to start contributing, which scares me little, considering I do quite enjoy sharing my opinion.. Anyway, I would probably best describe myself as a somewhat unorthodox member of our comfy "subculture"; I'm the guy who likes to play shooters slowly and steadily, who sometimes regrets running people over in GTA, who felt bad when he accidentally killed a few ant lions under his control in HL2. I can't bring myself to play through RPGs as a bad person (and almost hyperventilated when I figured out AFTER THE FACT that those damn Tranquility Lane idiots DON'T have to be slaughtered) and prefer to keep gore to a minimum, although this has diminished. My one greatest gaming regret is the fact that never got to play the entirety of the Legend of Zelda: OOT by myself, even though I owned an N64, had a "friend" who owned the game himself, and even had a chance to play the GC version. Oh, well. The two systems that I play the most are my 360 and DS, but I do own a Wii and will play the PS3 if the option presents itself (meaning I try to separate myself from fanboy urgencies, although occasionally...); I used to be a portable FANATIC and am trying to use my DS more. Aside from games, I am a pretty big music junky, but don't usually stick to one particular genre. I play multiple instruments, including the guitar, bass guitar, and sax (alto or baritone). My biggest passion aside from games, however, is language, which is probably more obsession...Chances are, if you speak it, I just might have studied it.

With the recent rumor surrounding a possible return to Sega's Jet Set/Grind Radio series, I got to thinking about the one game that consistently makes me wonder about the possibility of a sequel: XIII. Now, I know that critical reviews were slightly meh and gamers never really paid attention to it, but it did have a very neat comic art style (albeit currently cliched one) and ridiculously intruiging/complex storyline. However, lo and behold, I found out earlier today that NBC has made plans for a miniseries...set for this year! Does this excite anyone else here? Hey, maybe it'll be completely horrible, but maybe we'll get bankers/nurses/guards who sing the "you can fly" song.
