I was mildly disappointed in the final chapter, especially the final boss.
Took me long enough, eh? You'd think a Mother fan such as myself would at least learn that Japanese moonspeak so I could play the game back when it came out. Nope, I waited for the
fan translation to be done. And I took forever to beat that.
The rest of the game was a blast, and more difficult than I was expecting.
I'll play it again, probably fairly soon after I beat Mother 1 and 2... again.
That's awesome. I kind of gave up on the fan translation in chapter 5. I am the worst with RPG's, I am really vad for not finishing them.
Got to Chapter 2, and I already like it more than Mother 2. It just seems...more accessible.
Cool! Like Garison, i'm not too good with RPG's either, and I also gave up with the fan translation, even though it was extremely well done.
Anyway, congratulations on beating the game!
I finished it a while back.
The final boss was kind of disappointing, I'll agree, but what really defined the ending was the sheer WTF-ness. You know what I mean.
You guys should be jealous. I am the only one on Solatarus's friends list.
@Benefactor
Oh, I liked the early parts of the game quite a bit, but, eh, I guess I'm just one of those nostalgic fans of Mother 2.
@NotPigeon
Yeah. Very WTF?!
Real men play Uncle 7.
For me, the game's been so good so far (chapter 7) that the last boss could be a lukewarm bowl of baby blood and I'd be totally satisfied.
Oh, and yes, I do think that it is the best Mother game so far.
I'll probably never finish the game. After my compy crashed I lost everything and don't feel like going back through it
I am just about on chapter 8 myself and I am absolutely in love with this game. I have never played any Mother games in my life and now I am definitely going to have to play the other ones now.
I hated the final boss because it was too anticlimatic but the story ended really well.
I was actually disappointed with the final boss merely because it was hilariously easy... for me, anyway.
Buff up your party, nerf the enemy, throw up shields/counters, you're good to go.
Near the end of Chapter 7. I'm crazy about this game. I think it's easily as good if not better than Mother 2. I've played/replayed the whole series back to back this year, so it's cool getting to see the series evolve in fast-forward.
