Borderlands is a ARPGFPS(Action Role Playing Game/ First Person Shooter) we have seen this with a some games lately /cough fallout, But Gearbox has decided they want to get into this market. At the first glance you see a cell shaded game that has told you that there is 87 Bazillion guns. An open world to explore that has enemy's everywhere. With jump in Jump out 4 player multiplayer.
Lets talk about the Massive amount of guns. yes there is a ton of guns but it falls on its face when you get the same gun just with different names. Half of the guns that you pick up are utter shit that no one would ever use..... EVAR!!!!!! Also the Alien weapons not randomized and they just have a few of those so the coolest guns are always the same so Gratz you picked up 10101001010010 AGAIN!!!!!! Don't tell me "ALL" the guns are are randomized so you get cool combos when you leave the Guns that shoot Pew Pew Lazors out of that equation.
The open world is not that open. More LIES!!!!!!! Please don't tell us it is a open world when you can't do it right. Fallout 3 did it right, you sir did it WRONG! When you have a open world you need to gives us a world that doesn't need spots for us to load the next zone that isn't a OPEN world that is segmented. The world was smaller then fallout so it didn't do it well and overall you are using your vehicle most of the time to get from Point A to B until you get to port places. The world is Beautiful and you always see the NPC's walking around. You only see NPC's in Bursts though you never see one by himself just wondering around looking for food and water which makes it look like they just put camps of enemy's and called it a day instead of having the extra details that made you want to remember them.
Finally, the multiplayer part. It is nice the first time you do it with your friend but then when you do it for the 3 time it really starts to get samey and feels very dawl. When i was playing with my friends it was nice they split up the gold but really you couldn't do that with the ammo and you always had someone run out because the guy with the shot gun would take it all(Me). I almost forgot about the connection issues. Gearbox was really smart on this one the decided they didn't want to go through steam so the decided hey why not Gamespy. AKA lets make are game a game Piratable and let them go online because they are entitled to online play. There is a system that you can use but you fail to take advantage of it so you fail.
Now Spoilers time so get ready not to read. I said this on the O&H forums before it went down. The ending was one of the worst ending i have ever seen you first don't open the vault, you break it. Then you give it to that Pyco Bitch Scientist. But hey you might get some "rewards" for that right WRONG you get some Money when this game throws money at you like no tomorrow! Atleast give me some amazing gun that you found! Also they Guardian Angel chick was just something that would nag in your ear. that bitch never guarded me!
Well that is it for me i will see you guys later.
4/5

You have some valid problems with the game, but overall I think they managed to create a more interesting game than Fallout 3 for those of us that like company on our travels. The FPS/shooting mechanics were also much better than they were in Fallout3 where shooting felt like an afterthought and didn't have the same run and gun fun as Borderlands. (then again I found the VATS system to be awkward).

Overall, Borderlands is a fun game ... though the story elements are somewhat lacking I find.
