Oh man, this is excellent news!! I feared the worst for this movie (besides from the crappy cast), and I really didn't want to give anyones hopes up so I didn't feel the need to post any of this info. Now with recent news telling us that the WGA (Writers Guild of America ) has finally signed an agreement that will put writers immediately back to work on the Marvel Studios development slate.
This means that the Justice League movie is now on track to being filmed! It was put on hold, ON SET, as the actors were ready to start filming. Imagine how close they were! Since the writers strike is finally being put to rest, alot of other companies have been talking to get their movies out the door. Some are being rushed, and I imagine the Justice League film is no different.
But how will this save the movie? Recent reports have been showing a very weak cast, and an even worse script. The movie is being delayed for a new script though, so here's hoping. In case you have forgotten, here is a round-up of the cast.
Now for Marvel news : This year will be a big year for Marvel, mostly because the movies that they'll be cranking out this year won't suck, unlike Ghost Rider and Daredevil. This is due to Marvel Studios recently launching its independent live-action film studio to develop, produce, and fully finance Marvel movies. Yay!
Quote from the article : "We're very excited about our summer releases, 'Iron Man' and 'The Incredible Hulk,' and look forward to resuming work with writers on our future projects including 'Captain America,' 'Thor,' 'Ant-Man,' and 'The Avengers,' said Marvel Studios Chairman David Maisel."
More good news is that the writers strike looks to be ending very soon! Quote from the article : "The WGA recently entered into interim agreements with The Weinstein Company, United Artists, Lionsgate, Worldwide Pants, Spyglass Entertainment, MRC, Jackson Bites, Mandate Films, and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment."
Ok guys, I posted the Marvel information for a reason. I'm not trying to be a dick, but you'll have to wait for this epic news. Really, it's all the superhero news I could fit into one blog at the moment, that's why there's mixed properties.
Unless you want 3 News in Film blogs in a row! Also, I agree, I really wanted Hal Jordan instead for the Green Lantern. Jon Stewart is a bad ass being a marine and all, but the original Lantern is white gawd daym eet.
i'd rather have John stewart in a JLA movie, and have Hal be the center of a seperate Green lantern movie because lets face it, if you don't want to see sinestro on the big screen, you're probably a communist.
No one has confused the two properties, I simply posted the DC movie info before the Marvel info, as to not clutter the c-blogs with more than one News in Film blog.
I'm glad they decided to keep working on the Justice League script rather than going ahead with a crappy one. I DID like about half of the cast though. I just wish they had skewed it a bit older.
I too am looking foward to the ant-man movie because simon pegg is in it. I'm also waiting for info on the flash movie. Because The Flash fucking rules.
Honestly, don't care for this movie at all since it has low-budget, b-movie actor written all over it. I wouldn't mind seeing these people in a good B-movie comic movie, like Toxic Avenger, but not in Justice League.
Unstoppablejuggernaut pretty much summed up my thoughts on the JL movie and Common as John Stewart. I think he has ridiculous over looked skills on the mic but I can't see him playing this role.
So they’re going really young with this cast, aren’t they? Armie Hammer is, like, three months older than me, and Anton Yelchin is two and a third years younger than I am. Same thing with Teresa Palmer, who is around nine months older than me. Either way, I never watched the Justice League cartoons, but I love me some Batman, so I’ll certainly see this film. Thanks for the info, Snaileb!

*Sigh* I guess a Guy Gardner Green Lantern was too much to hope for.
Your the most Awesome Snail I know. I bet your Snail trail is made of Awesome sauce.
Man I hope this movie doesn't blow. I have low expectations for it just in case.
*Sigh* I guess a guy who knew that The JLA was a DC property before posting a blog all about Marvel Studios future projects was too much to hope for.
yea, what's with the marvel/Dc thing...weird.
anyway, am I the only person that thinks common would make a decent john stewart?
Uh, isn't JLA DC comics?
Not Marvel.
you're a stupid head.
Want to fight about it?
OH GOD THERE ARE ANTS IN MY VEINS!
Yeah, dude, JLA is DC, not Marvel.
The JLA movie is going to suck ass. Fact.

Comics = comics. Serious business!
DC vs Marvel is cereal fucking business.
What proffesor Pew said. Most people consider it blasphemy for confusing the two companies. Frankly I don't care, I just corrected you to be a dick.

Thanks for the support anyways.
I'm not liking this cast. Common is the only name I know from that list just by looking at it.
I am excited to see up there that there is going to be a "Captain America" and "The Avengers" movies in the works. Sweet deal.
whatever you say sir.
I'm looking forward to the ant-man movie, if what my brother says about it being directed by the creators of shawn of the dead is true.
PS
Ant-man is made of so much fail.
Common is a good MC but a shitty actor. Personally I'm glad they went with unknowns.
About green lantern - HAL FUCKING JORDAN peoples!
@ inchworm - I feel ya bro but the odds of a seperate green lantern movie will be predicated on the success of JLA.
This strike needs to end. 4 Serious.
I'm glad they decided to keep working on the Justice League script rather than going ahead with a crappy one. I DID like about half of the cast though. I just wish they had skewed it a bit older.
OMG Mustangs are totally better than Camaros
oh shit wrong battle
Justice League's Batman:
No thanks.

They have Scott Porter as Superman, not Cotrona.

lol @ Spawn.
The spawn comics are some of my favorite. I have about 27 of the Spawn figures, including the Manga and Cyber editions. I love spawn.
I hadn't heard about a new movie though, so I'll look into it. Thanks for the tip!
(Preacher has alot of good artist/writers going for it)
FUCK YEAH SPAWN!!!
Unstoppablejuggernaut pretty much summed up my thoughts on the JL movie and Common as John Stewart. I think he has ridiculous over looked skills on the mic but I can't see him playing this role.
@ Grimlock: I'd totally read Spawn again... if it were still the 1990s.

Fuck Aquaman.
Also, they should just use Vincent Chase as Aquaman, considering he’s already played the role once.
dude, Gale has the bazongas and the looks to actually be wonder woman. Amazing!
She's a wonder... *cue music*
