As much as I hate putting a question mark at the end of my blog titles, this one is truly perplexing folks. I can't get enough of these rumors! From my previous blog, you'll notice how Marvel and WGA have finally kissed and made up! Yay! Well we all know this is just the first stepping stone to the WGA's victory, but in the end we both win : movies for us, cash for them. So now that they've continued their silver screen dominance, let's hear what Mr. William Hurt has to say about his up coming roll as General Thaddeus Ross, who seems to be starring in both The Incredible Hulk & Iron Man. There might be spoilers, so honest fans who don't want a nice easter egg ruined should just turn back now.
Quote from the article : "I have a scene with Iron Man, with Robert Downey Jr.," the Oscar-winning actor told MTV News Friday at the Sundance Film Festival. "It's a funky scene"... "I don't know how it'll work," Hurt admitted, saying it was a thrill to appear as General Thaddeus Ross during Downey's scene. "I know it's weird [to work with a character from another movie], and to know it's a device. We did something; I don't know what that's going to be like [to watch]."
He goes even further, detailing a big spoiler. Exhibit B:
"Liv Tyler, I play her father, General Ross," he explained. "There's a scene, and during that scene there are a number of things happening. [Hulk] has beaten Abomination, and then there's a crowd that gathers around, and they realize that he's beaten Abomination. That Abomination was the one who was killing for just the joy of killing; Hulk is not the one... "It's the moment of turn," Hurt added, "when society's relationship with Hulk stops being so stupid."
So what could this possibly mean for us rabbid movie fans? Well speculation has it being a crossover somewhere in either The Hulk or Iron Man movie, which I think is f*cking brilliant. If they get the story of Iron Man and Hulk out of the way, as well as the relashionship between the two characters, then this could very well be the beginning of the Avengers movie.

I think that would be awesome, seeing as how we won't be seeing the film till 2010, yet starting it in 2008 with two different movies! The possibilities are endless.
I'm still waiting for my Punisher/Spider-Man cross-over.
Seriously, I'd prefer the Punisher/Daredevil cross-over. Those were some good comics, IMHO. I think I might even still have the single-comic-book collection somewhere in a box at home...
I would love that, but I'm on the fence on how they will write it all together. It's still Hollywood, so it could turn out into a bigger emo-fest than Spider-Man 3 in the end :(
Snail, I saw this interview the other day and couldn't quite discern one fact:
The way Hurt words things, it's kind of unclear whether he's talking about a scene he has with Downey in Iron Man, or if he's talking about a scene that Downey has in the Hulk movie.
I would be really sad, if they ended the two movies with Iron Man and Hulk hugging and crying, and began the Avengers movie like that.
But how hilarious would it be to have them make fun of that by making certain comments and hair-style choices for certain characters while the others belittle them for the choices (Stark tries an emo haircut so it doesn't bother him in his suit as much, Hulk is sad and looks like he needs a big hug, etc.).
Mr.Sadistic, he is playing the Hulk, and Robert Downy Jr. and Edward Norton will be coming back for the Avengers film to fill their rolls.
Gameboi supposively since the original Hulk movie was SO BAD, they will scrap it and act like it never happened, so this is like a remake of the remake.
I hope this trend carries over to the upcoming Thor and Cap movies... FF, Spidey, and the X-Men are out though, since Marvel doesn't have full creative control over those series currently.

An Avengers Movie would be fucking amazing.
DO WANT
I'm still waiting for my Punisher/Spider-Man cross-over.
The Avengers Film is happening, but this could be the beginning of it.
I think that would be awesome, seeing as how we won't be seeing the film till 2010, yet starting it in 2008 with two different movies! The possibilities are endless.
I'm with MrSadistic
I'm Ron Burgandy?
Sooo, was this where you were going with Marvel and your last post?
Also somebody give me a damn Spawn/Batman crossover movie damn it!
Would be nice, but I think it's just because the two movies were being made at the same time and they wanted to tie them together in a neat way.
Snaileb: Great blog posts here. Thanks for the infoz.

By Odin's beard, this news is glorious!

Even though it's a long shot, I would also like a Batman/Predator cross-over movie.
I would love that, but I'm on the fence on how they will write it all together. It's still Hollywood, so it could turn out into a bigger emo-fest than Spider-Man 3 in the end :(
Funny...I would've thought someone would've said they wanted the Dark Claw comic to come to life.
....<_<....>_>
that's what I thought. Can't wait for Iron Man.
I would be really sad, if they ended the two movies with Iron Man and Hulk hugging and crying, and began the Avengers movie like that.
F*ck you too Sam Raimi.

Also, I can't decide which would be more awesome.

What the fuck is dark claw.

Interesting.... The Hulk movie sucked, in my opinion. I hope they do a better job with him, this time around.
Dark Claw
I wonder if Edward Norton is going to be playing the Hulk, if there ever was a cross-over.
Mr.Sadistic, he is playing the Hulk, and Robert Downy Jr. and Edward Norton will be coming back for the Avengers film to fill their rolls.

An Avengers movie would make me giddy to the point of imploding.
I heard Downey had a scene in the Hulk movie, but I never heard the details. That is fantastic.
Iron Man is going to be incredible, and there's no way a Hulk movie with Ed Norton can suck.
I think this might be some concept art from the Avengers movie, I don't know though...
I think I read this 2 or 3 days ago on IGN. Good bring over to the Toid, though.
Yeah, this is oldish news, but not everyone has no life and constantly reads blogs and newsfeeds like me.
That'd be pretty cool.
That'd be pretty cool.
Since the Thor movie, I had heard, was due sooner rather than later, I would be totally pimped for a GOOD avengers movie.
They could cameo the F4 and Spidey, since they ARE all Avengers from different times.
The most important thing, tho, is Cap. God bless them if they do him right, and keep him antiquated like Cap from the Ultimates.
Nice Shoop.
