Not much unlike my first News in Film post, I'll be catching up on quite alot today as the sickness hasn't been real merciful.


Hancock

The Plot : "John Hancock" centers on a tortured superhero (Will Smith) who crash-lands in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, and tries to transform himself by romancing an alluring housewife, causing chaos in the city.

Well, let's start with Hancock. I have no idea what this is, or that it even existed, but I'm already a huge fan. Apparently some of you Destructicans have been keeping tabs on this underground treasure, and thank goodness or I would've not caught this till the TV spots. At least I don't have to wait that long, eh?




Terminator 4

Killer robots, come with me if you want to live, blah blah, you know the f*cking plot already. What you didn't know is that this movie was in fact, going to suck. Until.. only so recently has our knight in shining armor, Christian Bale, has been confirmed for the lead role as John Conner. Except.. he's not the lead role. What? Ok.. I have no real thoughts about this, so I'll just leave that to you, in the comments section. Minor spoilers below, but it's T4... do you care?

John Connor is not the main character of Terminator 4; that character is someone named Marcus. Marcus was put 'out of commission' before the nuclear holocaust on Judgment Day and he wakes up about 15 years before the future we see in the original Terminator films, which puts the movie at about 2015 or so. Marcus is a bad ass - think along the lines of Riddick - and what he finds is a blasted world filled with horror. Radiation poisoning, starvation, rampant jaywalking - all the things you expect post-apocalypse. There's also John Connor, who is trying to build a utopian society while running the human resistance.


X-Men Origins : Wolverine


The Casting News : The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Hugh Jackman has completed filming on director Baz Luhrmann's Australia, co-starring Nicole Kidman, and will begin shooting X-Men Origins: Wolverine in just three weeks!

Leading up to the events of X-Men, "Wolverine" tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

Sounds.. awesome? Well for better or for worse, they will have started filming in three weeks. Why couldn't Bale be Wolverine? Please Note : the movie is not called Wolverine, but X-men Origins. Thus meaning there will be many more movies for this cash cow to spit out. Seriously, a Magneto movie is coming.
