i'm glad i opted to wait for the PS3 version and finding out that it has a lot of extra content. the game looks really good. i like the artstyle and the story is intriguing. i don't know anyone personally who has played this though.
nothing against u king3vbo i just wanna see what the whole public thinks. Im sure the game is fu(l<ing awsome.
If you like JPRGs, then definitely yes. If you're tired of JRPGs, then this game will bore you to death.
I bought it at launch but still haven't gotten around to it (Blue dragon, orange box, beautiful katamari, COD4 etc) so I can't add anything useful to the discussion, but I have enjoyed looking at the cover the last month or so.
The demo was pretty fun, but it's still another JRPG in the end. If you like that genre, go for it. If you don't, find something else.
I thought it was exceedingly cute, and thought the whole "light/dark" thing was interesting, but i can see how annoying that can get later on when you don't realise you're under a shadow, and end up snapping a picture of a monster instead of shooting it.

I bought it shortly after it came out. Played it for a while, but eventually got sidetracked by other stuff.
Basically, my take on it is that the story is fascinating. The whole Chopin thing I think is really well done, and from what I saw of the story the game is pretty engaging. The art style is also phenomenal.
My main problem with the game was combat. In theory, the combat system is fine. The timing, special attacks, button presses, all that was fun.
What I hated was that EVERY.SINGLE.FIGHT in an area is exactly the same. There are only one or two different kinds of enemies per area. You always encounter them in the same groups. Your characters are always lined up in the same order. Everyone takes their turn in the same order each time. Pretty much for me, battles would go:
Character 1 kills Enemy One.
Character's 2 and 3 kill Enemy Two.
Enemy Three takes it's turn -- attacks the character on the bottom of the screen.
Character 1 finishes off Enemy Three.
And that's it, every single time. Maybe it gets better later in the game, I don't know, but I found myself absolutely dreading every battle. Again, the battle system itself is fine, but because everything is the same there is absolutely no strategy involved whatsoever. I found myself doing the exact same thing over and over again, and eventually moved on to Orange Box.

OH YEAH. just kidding, I wanted to say that. not worth $60. it's SOOOO motherfucking linear. I mean there is no "overworld". granted, I LOVED the first five hours or so. but it gets repetitive and there is some pointless dungeons that are a pain in the ass (run here for 2 minutes, run back to where you came, flip a switch, run back somewhere else, open a gate, flip another switch, make a guess as to what the fuck that switch just did etc etc etc etc)
I'd pay $30 for it, no more. find it used or rent it. worth playing though. it has amazing graphics.
