Lucky Japanese People And Their Dementium
Slick Icarus | 4:05 PM on 06.26.2008 12 comments

Why is it that Japan get's all the good horror movies when all we get are god awful remakes of their films like the Eye or the Grudge? Sigh. Well, those silly Japanese people (at least in the gaming press) got to preview the rad DS horror FPS (trust me, it works) Dementium in a jail that looks like somethin' out of Silent Hill, minus all the fog.

Here they are, having their heads pixelated. What is up with Japan and pixelating things?

I have no idea what's going on here, but believe me, they must be scared.

You can check out the preview here. Only it's in Japanese.

Thanks to Gonintendo.com for the link. If you can find a copy (or have a NOT R4), you should totally play Dementium.

Is this post awesome? Vote it up!

@Slick Icarus -- I agree with you on the Japanese horror, but if you didn't catch it, check out The Descent (the unedited version out on DVD). It's really dark and yummy :)

I kinda thought both versions of the Grudge were pretty terrible. Watch it again and count how many times they pan slowly up and down that damn staircase.

And i refuse to watch the EYE remake. Jessica Alba...pfffft.

Actually, I think your problem begins and ends with thinking the Japanese versions were any good. They weren't either.

those pictures reminded about show/episode i've seen a while back (either discovery, travel, E! -i forget) about life in japan and a potion delved into themed restaurants/bars

I think he knows the game came out here, he's just trying to point out how awesome the Japanese preview event was.

All americans got was some DS skins to give away on their websites/

I want to get the European version of Dementium b/c I read they fixed the whole save game/start over if you die/ thing. That would make me play it again. I honestly haven't played it in months... I still think about picking it back up. But, the fear of playing for a hour only to die and start over is keeping me from doing so :(
